England v Australia - THE ASHES

Think Australia might bat till tea and declare. Give themselves a session to make a breakthrough. They'll want a chance to win but that would put them in an unbeatable positon. Don't think they'll risk going 2-0 down.

England have been batted out of this match on day one. The only interest is in whether they make a massive 1st innings
score, too, and save the game, or collapse. I'm going to watch the Open and the Tour.

Oh, and Everton/Arsenal tomorrow.

they will be looking to put another 300 on the board. I think they will want to bat the day out, maybe have 30 or 40 minutes at us.

Possibly. As I say, I don't think they'll take any risks. Still 3 tests left fro them to draw the series and retain the Ashes, so a draw won't be seen as a bad result to get their morale back up after the first test. 2- 0 down would be a bit too much.

You cant beat batting the game to a safe position.

broads been the pick here and quite unlucky not to have more wickets, its still a batting pitch, but whether scoreboard pressure can play a part we will see, with our batting strength we shouldn't lose on this pitch unless the aussies get inspired, that said no one collapses quite like us

I'm surprised that Adam Lyth has only been given one over. He has a better bowling average for Yorkshire than Joe Root, and he is an unknown quantity for the Aussies. It's not as though we have got a lot to lose.

fielding getting lazy here, we should still be trying to bowl them out, not sure a root/ali combo is what i'd want with a player in the 190's, should be trying to make use of any nerves
