England v Australia - THE ASHES

James Taylor, a man treated appallingly by England, and never mentioned by any of the commentators, scored a double hundred today, I've always rated him higher than Ballance, though Ballance and his agent appear to be friends with the right people

It is going to take 2/3 players to turn it around full circle again. The middle order is a massive strength of ours and if they can just get a couple of innings with a good base then they could destroy teams, imagine Root & Stokes in at 200+/4. That is possibly with Buttler & Ali to come in as well.

Cook needs a partner that will complement him, score at a decent pace and allow him to play his natural game. Root needs to be in at 3.

Bell, Balance & Lyth are playing with fear at the moment, get some players in that play with no fear and we see a completely different side. The confidence running through the one day side is good and we need to harness that as best we can in the test environment.

Yes but that Yorkshire spinner who was 12'th man who can turn the ball on a coconut mat , and he can bat too is a fine wrist spinner turns it either way , and can perform the flipper , but no lets just use part time spinners! Anderson looks finished to me too!
Need a new fast bowler that can scare them apart from broad we dollied it up for them to hit!
Nothing on a length in the corridor of uncertainly, just a baseball hight 4 ft wide of off stump, or leg side bowling - far too easy v any team bowling as bad as that! Oh and no 3rd man were hundreds were scored!
I played for my school team as a fast swing bowler my cricket teacher would have kicked ass if we had performed like that I played for the 5th year team when I was in my 3rd year!
I also played evening league cricket never got bludgeoned like that bowling!

Agreed. Good news for us poms. Nevill did very, very well.
Old. Slow on his feet now when keeping. Unfortunately going through some tough family issues.
Not the right decision. Keep the winning team. Although I can't see how Voges is getting a game, but I won't be a broken record.

Maxwell's not a Test player...just like Warner! I'd rather they'd kept faith with Wade as the back up keeper. Needs to improve his glovework but boy can he bat!

Surprised Siddle isn't bowling. The only bowler in the side that can maintain line & length all day.

Basically, the Aussies need more Victorians in the side.:p

I would play some of the one day young talents. Maxwell maybe or Faulkner. Debuting a 35y/o is ludicrous for me.

Maxwell can't buy a run this season at Yorkshire.

Not so long ago, when Aussies got to about 35, they were being pressurised into retiring to allow the younger players a go!

Still prefer a younger player to the Dad's Army they are selecting

Maxwell is an awful cricketer. Mitch Marsh and Steve Smith are the guys they should be building a team around.

Poms will be happy to see Haddin back. Why change a winning team? Crazy. 2-1 England.
Glad that Haddin is back. It means I can, as a Kiwi, dispense with any neutrality as to the result. I detest that man, and any team he is a member of, I want to lose badly. Go England!
