Ive got to say I am gutted. I said the other day we didnt desrve to qualify and I dont think we did, but, I am still English and I am proud to be English. I love the big tournaments they bring the country together and its the only time when my bird will willingly watch the games with me.

Youy watch I bet you any money you like there will be a return of the home nations tournament next year.

Some people might say the same thing about Crouch. Some people like.

He did well in a poor side no doubt about that, and I will hold my hand up. But I have also said that he generally scores from assists from Beckham. The kind of pass Beckham can make is vital, and it proved it. He then tackled back well, but to me it looked like nobody else had the bottle, including our own Joleon.

But what disappointed me was the lack of balls shown by Gerrard. Hardly a captains performance.

It's a slow burner this feeling. Will only kick in for real after the draw is made and the first ball is kicked.

cole off for darren 'one goal this season' bent.

hot under the collar stevie M ?

I don't think its McClaren's fault though. A master tactician isn't going to be the reason why Carson can't catch. The players have to take some of the responsibilty sometime (3 goals in a must win at home against the same team that couldn't get by the Aussies?) and that doesn't mean in a $30 hardback we were [Poor language removed] autobiography.

Keep Beckham, Barry and maybe Hargreaves (he's the only one who has the stamina to go 120 minutes. Its time to blow the team up and use the kids.

Actually on 2nd thought I take it back. McClaren supposedly made a beeline to the dressing room as soon as the whistle blew. Way to look classy in defeat McC.

better to get trounced in the qualifiers than to get utterly embarrassed at the hands of such football giants as russia and croatia next summer.

hopefully this will be the culling point, i doubt it, but can hope.

I feel slightly relieved because finally the Sven era can finally be banished. The likes of Gerrard and Lampard can start to move aside. We can start rebuilding the team from the young stars we have.

Give Beckham his 100th cap and then let him enjoy his retirement safe in the knowledge he still made a difference.

Gutted. Having said that though, we didn't deserve it. Id've been even more gutted had we been desperately unlucky, but the reality is we were just desperately bad.

Expect McClaren's departure to be announced tomorrow morning. Good [Poor language removed] riddance.

Mate it is McClarens fault. He decided to play a back 5 who have never really played together. He decided to drop the only man who can cross a ball. He decided to go with the old adage of playing Gerrard and Lampard together.

It is his fault. He makes the decisions.
