Also, and this is controversial (although probably not on here), I don't see the merit of Daniel Sturridge as an England player, he's mostly injured, is very lazy and his final third link-up is just not as good as Harry Kane or even Wayne Rooney. Drinkwater is worth a shot, but really, it should be a midfield four of Lallana, Barkley, Alli and Dier holding based on the 116 minutes of football I've watched in these two friendlies so far. Bertrand and Rose jossling for LB, Walker and Clyne fighting for RB and Stones and Smalling at CB.
 

See normal service is resumed with England games. Boring, can't keep possession, no spark.

Drinkwater not looking like this is his level. If England want a midfielder to stand still and try and spread passes Carrick would still be better.
