Flying out tomorrow morning for Minnesota to celebrate my grandmother's 100th birthday. The party is actually Saturday at 11am CDT.

I've already informed the powers that be that immediately after the party, I will be adjourning to wherever the closest TV is and watching the match.

If someone told me "America will beat England" about a month ago I'd have laughed in their faces. However, given America's great form recently and England's pretty shoddy form, I reckon the Yanks will cause us quite a bit of hassle. I can see them being all fired up for this and without Ferdinand keeping the defence tight it could be quite some battle.

The Americans I've spoken to are basically treating this match as if it's their cup final, so if their attitude is anything to go by they'll put up a fight. Still confident we'll win this but I don't expect them to roll over for us.

Should be a good match whatever the result. As long as we make the Round Of 16 I might just handle a loss to America.
