Erling Braut Haaland

I think that City are falling into the same trap with Haaland as we did with Lineker.
The City team seem to have lost their overall intensity and think they just have to always give it to Haaaland.
They are nowhere near as good as last season despite the fact that the Norwegian is clearly a tremendous goalscorer.
We were better in the season before and after GL , a dar better balanced team and a greater threat.
Was thinking just that the other day. Incredible forward but teams like City do not have a single focal point, and now they have. It will cost them. Foden can hardly get off the bench and he is far too good for that.

He’s Norwegian, that’s why. His Da played for City, Leeds, but he was still raised in Norway. His whole family are Norwegian, it was never an option.
Not strictly true, is it?

"I lived here for three-and-a-half, four years. But I lived in Norway for such a long time, so it was natural for me to choose Norway. You never know how it might have been if my father had played longer in England, maybe I would be English! But I'm Norwegian, and I'm proud of it."

Emotionally never an option, but an option all the same.

Don't mind me though, just passing time with my coffee.

So… what you’re saying is, he didn’t want to play for England because he was emotionally invested in playing for Norway.

You then also included a quote which literally says “I’m Norwegian and proud of it”

Don’t mind me, just reading you reaffirming my initial point.

My reference to passing time and having my coffee was meant to be a roadsign to me being a silly pedant.

Well done! :coffee:

Yeah good call that, always better to spread goals then have one focus
I was taking to my mates after our game , when their plan was give it to him they didn't seem to have a real plan B . They’ve definitely changed the way they play , when he’s scoring 3 a game it doesn’t matter obviously but if he has a little dry spell they suddenly only win 4 out of 9
