I hope the Dutch win ,happy memories of Amsterdam and of course the cup winners cup final(y)

I normally support any team playing England and always support Spain but since England arent there and i cant support Spain anymore (Torres) i will support the ruskies

I'll still never forget that picture of Boularouz, Deco, & Van Bronckhorst (was it Van B?) sitting next to each other near the stands after they had been thrown out talking to each other while the game was going on.

What a crazy game it was.

Yeah, that was a classic. The second-worst display of reffing at the finals, it really wasn't that bad a game until he went card-happy.

Well I put much of the blame on the players. I remember quite a few rash challenges in the match that warranted at least a yellow.

I didn't think the ref did as bad as what most might have thought.

Still an entertaining game to say the least.

ronaldo and quaresma on the wings, switching every 2 minutes, defenders don't know whether to come or go.

its a joy to watch when they're in full flow so portugal for me

i will also be sticking a few quid david villa for the golden boot

I almost had a heart attack. I guess I will always remember "The battle of Nurnberg".

The ref only made one mistake, in my opinion. He didn't sent off Boulahrouz for that killer tackle on Ronaldo in the first minutes of the match. From that moment on, hostilities were open. It became more than a football match. It was about winning a battle (literally).

The players indeed made the ref's life a living hell. I still remember the criticism he got after the match. But he couldn't have made things different.

looks like i'll be taking the italians then, see a former blue lift the euro goblet. this comp has a history of underdogs winning it, who only just qualified ? but then of course if we get arshavin before the tournament we'll all be on the ruskies.

Pitty that doesn't happen very often.

At least in the qualifying we were crap most of the matches.

I remember that now you mention it and you're right. Imagine how the game would have played out had he been sent off. Quite a bit different I imagine.

At least there would be no grudges for hunting a player.

By the way, the best ever happen to Portugal in that WC was Ronaldo's injury. His contribute to the move that ended in the only goal was a mere two touches on the ball as he couldn't run because of his injury. Otherwise he woud start trying to dribble everybody and eventually lose the ball as it happened often. :D

Well.... since I´m a Swede, there isn't much choise is there?

Spain, Russia and Greece for me.. :D

The Holland-Portugal match was a classic. I swear both teams decided that they didn't care if they won the match. I think both teams just tried to see how many cards they could get.

Think Germany is going to win it. I also like Portugal's chances becasue their group is so pathetic (Swiss, Turkey, Chech Rep). Group C (Italy, France, Holland, Romania) may be the hardest group ever conceived.
