EURO 2021

Even though stadiums won't be full, there's something just magnificent about an International Tournament isn't there?

Add in to the mix Wales, Scotland and you've got great atmosphere all the way through. Will be great seeing North Macedonia and Finland in there (and not ultra negative Iceland) and I for one cannot wait. 25 days and counting.

I've been lucky enough to get tickets to Scotland Vs. Czech at Hampden which should be a right spectacle.
If Iceland held on against Hungary, I’ll be having very low expectations for them as far as doing well on a relative level is concerned. They would lose all their matches, especially going into this on a poor start to the World Cup qualifying and losing all Nations League matches for the second season running.

In that qualifying run so far, they lost 2-0 to the Armenians. You wouldn’t have seen that happening to the team that beat England 2-1.

I’ve got the feeling that Iceland are starting their inevitable descent back to being minnows again after a golden period. As you would expect really for such a small nation, look at Trinidad and Tobago since the 2006 World Cup for another example.

Goes to show just how well they've done over the last decade.

Their current generation is now ageing, and it's not so easy to get it done again for such a sparsely populated country. Last time they did it by investing in youth.

Was good while it lasted however.

As for Euro 2020 as a whole, you cannot beat a major summer football tournament. The vibe is second to none and also after all these years of following Finnish football, they’ve finally crossed the line after so many close attempts. Even Roy Hodgson didn’t do it, although if he stayed another year, he would have.

North Macedonia will be an interesting addition, especially coming into this on the back of a win over Germany.

After the cr@p end to our season, it couldn’t end sooner for this to start.

Was nothing against Iceland as a whole it was just so negative and uninspiring.

The World Cup was diabolical to watch. But every underdog has their day.

Would love for England to win it

They've got a good enough squad that I hope they at least make the latter stages if nothing else

Belgium, France and Spain are likely winners, with Germany in their always dangerous role of being "Dark Horses"

Belgium will need to finally win something or I think it's grounds for Martinez to get the sack. No excuses anymore. That squad is brilliant. If they don't do it this time then it's on him

Be interesting to see the England squad.

Rumours that Trent may not be in it. I can kinda see where Southgate is coming from because against the better countries we are going to have to be more defensive and he is weak in that area. After yesterday I hope Southgate saw the potential in Godfrey and who knows maybe Keane has also given him some food for thought especially with Maguires injury. Would be cool to have 4 Everton players in the England squad.
