when (not if) we get out our group do we have to endure another hideous draw for the round of 32?

Do they draw it after each stage or?

...bookies still reckon we'll qualify despite the bad draw, in fact we are generally 15-8 favourites to top the group ahead of Wolfsburg who are 2-1. I think they draw 2 rounds at a time after the group stage but I might be wrong.

....some interesting stats in today's racing paper - in 3 of he last 6 seasons the trophy has been won by a team who had earlier competed in he Champions League. 8 of the last 14 finalists have entered via the Champions League. Spurs and Napoli are now 16-1 joint favourites. Celtic are 100-1.

The tough group raises questions as to how many youngsters we can blood in these games. We were all hoping the likes of garbutt and browning would get some game time. But due to the nature of the opposition I have doubts we will see them.

Anyone flying to Berlin for the Wolfsburg game. We're going on the Wednesday morning, staying in Berlin Wednesday night (much cheaper hotels than Wolfsburg), then getting the train across to Wolfsburg Thursday lunch time (takes about an hour).

Yeah Im doing that. Get to Berlin Wednesday morning, do the touristy bit there for the day, train over to Wolfsburg Thursday morning and back after the game to fly home from Berlin on Friday morning. Gonna be a killer on the Wednesday as Ill have to be up from midnightish , but you manage somehow I suppose!

Remember doing AEK Athens on the official trip a few years ago. Flight was at about 5 in the morning, so had to be up from about 2ish, fly over, day in Athens, watch the Blues win, fly straight home, was awake for nearly 30 hours! Insomnia has its uses sometimes!

With all the talk of a tough ask for us in this season's EL, it's important to look back on what a far inferior Everton first team and squad achieved in 2007/08's EL. AZ were Eredivise RU and then champions in the years either side of our meeting with them, and Zenit would go on to win the trophy that year. Nuremburg had finished 6th in the Bundesliga the season before. Everton strolled that group.

I assume the 'touristy bit' will involve drinking quantities of German beer?! With having an early start on the Wednesday, we 've booked on the 11.46 train to Wolfsburg. Should get us there for 12.54. Wolfsburg should be filling up nicely by then

Bloody hell mate, that sounds like a journey and a half

Can't help you with your query but someone was on Twitter before saying Krasnodar is a sound place to go and has got loads of bars. Probably be a great trip but I won't be going
I've heard it's decent mate. It's 50/50 as I've got 2 trips to the states before November . My bird is threatening to kill me but there is nothing new there

Looking on booking Russia next how easy is it getting a visa

I live over their now mate and have done the visa applications ad invinitum, you will be best off applying through here http://ru.vfsglobal.co.uk/ they handle all applications for Russian visas - if your in L'pool you'll apply to the London rather than Edinburgh one, saves money through the other route of going through a third party booking agent who usually slap on an extra 50 quid or so, long as you get your app in with plenty of time then don't go for the express service, the other normal app takes about 9-10 days from posting off to getting it back in your hand - make sure you include the return by special courier with the fee - my last visa think all round it cost about 90 quid and change - they changed it so you can pay by visa rather than having to bankers or postal order which used to add a tenner on :), if you don't mind paying extra like then can always use one of the accredited visa agencies that walk you through it all - honestly a waste imo - can also do an express service for an extra fee which will get your visa you in about 3 days instead

I've never had any problem getting a visa, and their really prompt on replying to any queries at the link i pasted here

Visa form looks a pita at first but pretty simple actually - you need any help shout out and will try to steer you right on it

As for Kras, i've never been, but the wife has with her old class of 15-16 year old students (when she was teaching) and she reckons its a really nice place - think it's one of the holiday resort places from communist times for the party aperachic

To be honest, we never do things the easy way. For Nuremberg, we flew to Prague and got the train which took over 4 hours
