How are people getting to Lille?

I have booked a seat on the coach with Thomas cook and Everton but you only get on the if you qualify for a ticket. I have no aways on my ST so it's not looking likely I'll qualify anyway.

I need to start looking at alternative methods of transport, ideally the cheapest (flying is out of the question given the cost now). Any suggestions?

Where about are you based mate?

You can get a virgin train from Liverpool lime street to London for £12.50. Then you can get the idbus bus (check online) from London straight across the Lille which only costs £23.00. Thats how I'm getting there, seen a few blues on here getting there that way too. Hope this helps and you can join the scenes in Lille ;)

SCENES

Can't wait for this.

We're going the scenic route, Hull>Zebrugge overnight. Works out about £70 each for a minibus of 8, also includes a cabin. Staying in Bruges then driving to Lille.

can someone tell me, how i can join 'le party'

I am staying in the hotel right on the ground so i need parking there (need to call this hotel it seems to get parking, they have no email?), once i park i need to get to the city, and back to the game.

can someone tell me how i can use this metro or what i need to do, i should point out the last time i was in france was in 1986 on a school tour :p

le partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

(tickets still pending!!)

Just managed to book 2 tickets 55 euros each in block H, through a mate who is computer literate and used his mums address in France. Happy days.
One of these is for my season ticket holder mate who is hopeful of getting 2 official away tickets. Assuming he does there'll be 2 tickets for £45 each going spare.

you can get the metro from near the stadium back into Lille, I'm also staying near the stadium mate.
last metro is around 12pm so will have to jump in a taxi if staying in the city centre until late.

£45 each when everyone's getting tickets for €30.. You'd only pay that if it was in EFC end

I got my tickets of season ticket holders I knew but they don't go the away games (unless it's only round the corner)
One of the ST holders works in Dubai 3 months on then 3 off.

Rarely got let down. Twice last season I ended up getting lucky and getting one at the ground as a spare when I went without a ticket like.
But this year EVERYONE is going lille and Wolfsburg so that will be a nightmare so well see.
Been a STH for nearly 30. Years and still struggle to get aways unless they're in the home end...must be doing something very wrong.
