People have also been moaning about not getting a ticket despite being a season ticket holder with no aways. The answer for these people is simple - go to more aways...

Kinda disagree with this, but don't want to be a nob. I've been to two aways in the last year and both I had to get 'spares' off twitter because they were sold out to people with credits. If you only have a season ticket you basically have no chance of ever getting an away ticket without credits, so it's a self perpetuation problem. The problem is people with credits who buy the maximum number of tickets allowed for every away and then immediately start advertising them as 'spares'. If you aren't going just don't buy them and let somebody else get a ticket for a change.

I know I'm speaking to nobody in particular but it is annoying. Sometimes tickets go on sale and are literally all over the place as 'spare' minutes later.

People who are on the thomas cook trip but are season ticket holders, the ticket is included in that trip but only if you meet the criteria.

The Thomas Cook tickets were allocated last week. People who have paid with Thomas Cook and have a ticket included only get the ticket if they meet the same criteria as everyone else - STH + aways. It's not a case of paying more money to skip the queue or get a ticket without fulfilling the criteria Everton have set down.

People who bought with Thomas Cook were told last Friday if they were getting a ticket, after their eligibility had been checked.

The second part of what you're saying, I kind of agree. I can see where you're coming from.

The first part though - it is possible to get away tickets. You need to build up your credits - not every game sells out before it reaches just STH. A lot do, but quite a few don't. The likes of Southampton away and Newcastle away, QPR away, ones like that.

Burnley away is a prime example - it is currently on sale to STH+2 aways. On Wednesday this week it goes to STH only, with no credits. There's your chance, your ideal opportunity to buy a ticket for a relatively local away AND get a credit.

how can they allocate tickets when they dont even know what criteria its going to go to. You say they allocated them on friday but they wouldnt have known if it would go to just season ticket holders or sth + 1 away.

In the past it was a case of paying more and getting a ticket hence why they made such a fuss of you have to meet the criteria this time round.

lots of people are still waiting on thomas cook and have been told they'll find out on wednesday.

If you need to use Thomas Cook to get to Lille then you quite possibly can't find your own Arse, apart from drawing Calais, Boulogne-sur-Mer,Le Havre or Caen which are all ports with direct access you couldn't get an easier away to get to, sure £99 (is that what it was for the coach) aint a bad price but you could still do it all in for way less than that.

lots of people like the safety mate and not having to sort anything out.

wouldnt touch it myself like but i can understand why people do, we've got virgin trains, eurostar & hotel thursday (decent hotel too) for €140 all in.

I can see what you're saying. If someone ordered a Thomas Cook ticket and had STH + 6 or more aways, they were always getting a ticket. I fell into that category myself. I rang up Thomas Cook as I bought with them and asked them what was going on. They sent me an email last Friday confirming I had my ticket confirmed and took the payment, sending me a receipt.

As far as other people, they must haven known how many had booked with Thomas Cook, and put tickets aside, out of the pot. At the end of the day, nobody is getting any preferential treatment. If you buy with Thomas Cook, you still have to fulfill the ticket criteria like everyone else. The extra money you're paying is for the coach travel or flight.

Everton said at the very start of the ticket selling that everyone with either STH+6, STH+4 or STH+2 were guaranteed a ticket, if they wanted to buy one. It went down to STH+1 before selling out.

Some people can't get more than a day off work. I know a few who are going on the flight and are specifically doing so because even though it's expensive, it's one day off work and because they live in Liverpool, they'll be back in their own bed by probably 1am Friday morning at the very latest, and could still go to work the following day if they had to (probably knackered like!).

It's not as simple as people just being stupid or lazy or gullible.

In the past you've always been better off going with thomas cook and this is the first year you've had to fulfill the criteria. I still suspect the ones who booked on with just a season ticket will get one. suppose only time will tell.

Yeah, thinking back on previous years, you may be right. I went with Thomas Cook to Standard Liege and Benfica and that might have been the case, I genuinely can't remember now.
