Given the [Poor language removed] they throw at us for failing to qualify for the CL in 2005 I'd say losing to Trabzonspor in the qualifying round of the Europa League was a decent sized stick to beat them with for a bit. They're no Villareal. [Poor language removed] it, they're not even a Standard Liege.

Leave it to Liverpool to score late and [Poor language removed] up this fantastic result for Trabzonspor...15 mins left...we'll see how it goes...

I'm wondering whether Liverpool are going to tank this game? Hodgson's task is to get 4th spot not spend his time juggling around for the Europa League.

Good point...I'm not watching the game...just following the scoreline, but the scoreline makes it appear that they are throwing in the towel. I could be wrong though.

From Woy himself:

"In leaving a player like Torres out of this game to make sure he can play on Sunday I am not capable of saying this [the Europa League] is the priority," he commented.
"No-one wants to go out at this stage of the season but we've been handed the most difficult draw.
"The task will be a tough one but there is no doubt, come May, our league position will be of more interest than how well we fared in the Europa League, so I don't make any apologies.

i.e. "We're quitting while we still have a chance to do something in the league."

Stay classy Liverpool.

Exactly. That has to transmit to players.

Hopefully all three games tonight go to extra time. Just to sap the strength of those playing that little bit more. All adds up in the second half of the season.
