European Break........!!

A meal for 2 should cost you about £40 with a bottle of wine. If you don't mind going for a pizza or similar, you'd pay about £25. A drink in a bar can cost you anything from £1.50 to £3. Depends where you go. It's a big city so if you move away from the main tourist bits, things get cheaper. You do have to be careful regarding cash, though. You can get screwed when you don't know what you're doing. It's not as expensive as cities like Oslo or Moscow. But expect London prices.

Neb im really likeing the sound of this...

Were would be the best place to stay, any ideas..?

Were's the best airport to fly into mate...? i can start looking at flights!

Stayed in the First Hotel, Vesterbro, for a conference one time. Good location not far from Tivoli, hotel's fine, but not cheap (about 140 quid a night?).

(If you book through Hotels.com, they're doing a deal on some hotels where the third night is free, so that drops the price a lot for a short break. We just booked a place in a Vienna Hilton on b&b for €72 a night for two people in a room.)

You should be able to get a direct flight from Manchester to Copenhagen (København).

There are tonne of hotels in the city centre. The Radisson SAS hotel just over on Amager is good, but very pricey. If you do go to Kbh, just make sure you book a hotel in the city, rather than the outskirts.

If you're after somewhere a bit warmer though, have you thought of Barcelona? Fantastic city, reasonable prices and very beautiful.

The worst thing for you at the moment is the pound is [Poor language removed] and exchange rates are low for euros and krone.

Krakow is nice, still cheap as far as I know, but the nice old bit is quite small and the rest of it can be quite depressing. Especially if you go to Auschwitz! I never went, you should go to this salt mine they have instead.

I would recommend Berlin, it's not a pretty city but there's loads to do and the atmosphere is dead friendly. It was quite cheap there too.

Barcelona is great. Venice is beautiful.
How about somewher like Palma for a few days? Lovely city and beaches nearby? Flights can be very reasonable.

If it's a romantic break then Venice is THE place to go.b)
