Carnage in Cologne this afternoon.

Effzeh score two goals in stoppage time to beat relegation rivals Bochum 2-1... pictures I was sent look incredible.

Huge month incoming!

Congrats! Hope you have a belter of a night
Thank you very much. I was in the stadium with my sons. Partying in the 40s defo harder than in your 20s. 🤣

Yeah, we sold out our home stadium + 70-80k people in Sevilla, what is about 850km from us. We had 3/4 of the stadium there as well and a lot of them in the vicinity.

I was worried that the 'favourites' tag was going to weigh heavily and it seemed to in the first half.

Second half, Athletic deserved to win in normal time. Worthy winners overall.

You from Bilbo?

I'm from Merseyside but have lived in Alicante for 30 years.

My first, and still my best friend here is from Santurzi.
Oh that's great to know. Was often there in childhood.

Actually I had nothing to do with Merseyside until I met my wife in Valencia a day after the CL qualification against Villarreal. Her family is a keen supporter and season ticket holder. With the time I started following EFC more.

My only connection to Everton was Kendall, who's equally adored here despite not being successful, but I was 8 years old, so my memories are rather stories by elders. Growing up I watched more of the big teams of English football like SAF United or Italian and German football.

That was why I had a soft spot for Athletic when I came to Spain. Cemented by the aforementioned friendship.

They'll be cleaning 'la gabarra' ready for the victory proccession on Friday.

They have looked an odd mix of a team this season. Weird playing in the Olympic stadium, which hasn't even been full as well.
I’ll be there for CL next week but many cules have found it difficult to embrace Olympic stadium for a variety of reasons (layout of pitch and stands with running track creating separation from fans, location and ease of access via public transport & price increases).

The good is that Camp Nou is on schedule for matches in November
