I saw Leverkusen beat Wolfsburg away earlier this season. They looked well balanced and pacy. We were talking to their fans on the train afterwards and they were delighted to be top but all thought they would fall away.

Great to see some of the major figures in the Bundesliga attacking the AfD Nazis who are currently threatening to deport half the country. Freiburg coach Christian Streich is particularly notable in his condemnation of the CDU leader Friederich Merz who has been flirting with the Nazis. Streich has taken part in one of the many huge marches against the AfD across the country this week and told the media: "Don't come to me and tell me you are a protest voter. If you do, don't be surprised when you are then ruled by an authoritarian right-wing nationalist party".

Uli Hoeneß also had a swipe at the AfD during Franz Beckenbauer's memorial. Thomas Tuchel has also spoken to the media about the current danger of right-wing extremism.

As Streich said this week: "If you don't get up now, you haven't understood anything. That's beyond any question. It's five minutes to twelve. If you don't do anything now, you haven't understood anything at school or in history."

Werder Bremen, Köln, Bochum, Hannover, and St. Pauli are among the clubs that have also spoken out.

Here in Berlin, I'm off to join the march this afternoon. There were 80,000 in Frankfurt on Friday.

Oh, my Schalke lost 0:2 but hit the post 100000 times it feels.

Very unlucky and one of those where you do everything right but score, and the opponents sit back, have 2 chances, score twice.
