Clause Thomson, he was my favourite useless player, I felt sorry for him he was that bad, even at Christmas time!!

I remember his first game and he just side footed a five yard pass into the second tier of the main stand for no apparent reason.

I remember him being slightly better at Centre back for a bit before he crocked himself celebrating a goal.

Bizarre player listings. Is it near the 1st April? Where's the Marc Hottigers, Stefan Rehn, Claus Tomsens?
* Oh yeah Sandro

Rehn only played 1 game for us. I don't know what happened there because he was a seasoned international, not like he was just some random bloke plucked from nowhere.

HOW is Sigurdsson leading ths poll. Yes he's normally gash, needs a zimmer, and worth barely a third of the £45m Goldfinger spunked on him, but how many other people on this planet would have had the brass bollocks to slot that derby winner with such icy calm?

That penalty.... the breaker of that F.VUKCING WRETCHED CURSE.... the goal that turned merseyside blue after 11 years of pure misery and finally shut those red blastards and their horsey manager up... worth every penny. Sigurdsson can have 3/10s from now until the rest of the season (barring cup games!). He gets a pass until the end of his days here.

So I've gone with Ashley Williams. He was shot before he got here, and just didn't get us. Of course he was better than Kroldrup, and quite a few other defenders I can think of - Alcaraz and Funes Mori spring to mind for their utterly criminal displays in big games!. But the way Williams randomly went missing just poisoned the team's morale when he should have been their figure of reliability.

Unlike the very honest Keane, Williams had no humility or desire to improve, he just saw Everton as a stepping stone, but (at that age) the next step would be clear as mud. So basically he was the perfect Koeman signing.

And why are Doucs and Beattie on here? OK Beattie did his best pilsbury doughboy impression with us, but he did loads to lift us away from the relegation battle in early 2006. Probably only Cahill and the Stubbs/Weir combo did more than him around that time.

The question is based on value for money, and at £45M scoring a penalty doesn't justify that kind of money. Alcaraz was probably the worst centre back I've ever seen play for us, but he was a free transfer. I agree with you about Doucoure; how he can possibly be considered in the same category as Bolasie, Kone, Sandro, Klaassen et al is a mystery to me.

Well if that penalty finally rids us of the fear of Liverpool, and the ridiculous psychological baggage we've had for about the last 50 years, you might find yourself eating those words. Say we met them in a semi or final now, there wouldn't be the same sense of fear/trepidation, with "Everton That" copied to the clipboard even before kickoff.

We won 2-0.

Has to be Tosun for me. Goes under the radar a bit - cost like £27m. Scored possibly 5 goals for us? He will leave on a free. Just awful recruitment all round

All the other options can run

The answer is still Bolasie but shoutout to Martinez for bringing us a terrible goalie, defender, midfielder, and striker all from the same relegated team in one summer.

Actually I liked Robles.
