I was sitting in MS2 for the game and there was a kid and his mum shouting negative abuse for most of the game. It was a bit funny at first but quickly became really annoying and ruined the atmosphere. Thankfully a lad turned round on the 70th minute and told them off and they were probably too embarrassed to continue.

Don't understand that mentality though. Frustration for the team playing rubbish, I get it, but constantly shouting abuse over and over again is just sad.
I was in the Upper Gwladys... same experience, moaning or silence all around. No positivity at all. When the Brentford fans sang that old chestnut "your support is f -g shi..." they were not wrong.

I mean the football and results are very negative, what did you sing about mate? Any positivity?

Honestly hats off you're putting up with that but there's nothing to excite anyone - we don't score goals, we play for a draw every game, we hoof with zero creativity all game.

I'm know where you are coming from, but ... I am not a great singer, but I support our team, so at least I do not boo and definitely don't slag the players off. Certainly not during the game. No point in that at all. Negativity just adds to the overall situation. I have been to MANY games on the continent, Hungary, Poland, Germany, Croatia, Serbia, Ital, Turkey, etc, some [Poor language removed] footy, almost no hope, but the fans support their teams... amazingly. They, better than us, see the big picture.

I wish I had a ounce of your optimism mate.

I'll let you get back to your 18 pound cup of Mulled Wine.veyears mate (old so and so) do not optimistic, just mor negati bit

FYI information... I am quite new here but not new to EFC. How about home and away in the 70s and 80s? But I am not optimistic just not pessimistic. No point in that at all.

The view from the Guardian - unusually accurate...

Blunt Everton need attacking urgency

After a third match without a goal, and this time having played for 53 minutes against 10 men, Sean Dyche was asked whether he needed to work more on Everton’s attacking game. The question was not impertinent. It was, worryingly for the manager, a perfectly reasonable conclusion to draw from his team’s stagnant efforts against a Brentford side that had not kept a clean sheet or gained an away point all season before arriving at Goodison Park. “We’ve been working endlessly since I’ve been here to attack better,” Dyche replied with a touch of incredulity. “We have got very good players here and it is my responsibility to make them better or, if I can’t make them better, make them as a unit win.” The problem for Dyche – aside from the league table, a daunting December fixture list and the prospect of working for new owners – is that individuals are not improving and the collective is not winning. And Everton never looked like winning against Thomas Frank’s 10 men. More work is required to end the status quo. Andy Hunter
