I meant for the summer.

You were stating it's something long term we needed.
Dave You can't appoint one manager for now and have another on hold for the summer that's not how it works and we certainly wouldn't have survived with Leighton and Seamus in charge on a temporary measure until the end of the season.
So again Dave out of interest what would you have done instead of appointing Moyes?

Not the time, you'd be throwing them under the bus with this group of players. Stabilise this season,, renew some contracts and get some new younger players in and get a decent mid- table finish next year, and then maybe push on with a new manager.

That means would be letting another manager buy-in players this new hungry manager would have to work with, then the whole non-virtuous circle of getting rid of players not suited to them begins again and wear in a load of triple again.

Clean break for me: new manager, hand them the cash, let';'s go from there.

I'd have hired Moyes and told him it;'s short term. Which is I think what's happened.

Your giving me a politician's answer Dave, at the moment Dyche was sacked what would you have done and who would you have appointed?

We have to get away from the manager being the most important thing. We need a DOF who brings in talented players. Managers come and go, the DOF appointment is just as important,if not more.

Held my nose and brought in Moyes to the summer.
Thank you well, good we agree on that but I'd be surprised if Moyes has agreed to that, I think he'll be given 18 -24 months to stabilise the club, then work with the owners to bring in a new manager with modern ideas.
Pure conjecture on my behalf but I honestly don't think Moyes would have made such a short term agreement unless he is moving towards an upstairs appointment.

I've said loads of time there and I still believe this to be true: DoF's are not suited to us.

He advised Kenwright 12 years ago to bring in Phil Neville or Alan Stubs or Duncan Ferguson or David Weir...all utter failures at management.

No thanks, we dont need Moyes' input as an adviser on that.

A horrendous day, traffic was terrible, both to and from the game, making it a 7 hour day, normally I am an hour away!

Only for an inept first half and Tarky’s worst performance since he joined the club.

Hitting the post 3 times, poor reffing generally and the only luck we had was bad luck. Escalator broke down from Top Balcony, every traffic light was wrong.

Roll on Wednesday, play like that and they will tear us a new one 😡🤬

I'm sure like you and I Dave, Moyes would have changed his opinion on many things over the years and in football terms that was an eternity ago.
