Match Thread Everton 0-2 Bournemouth FA Cup 8th Feb 2025

Those three wins in a row have given us breathing room, why don’t we have a go, full strength!
There’s nothing to play for in the league but we have the chance to actually win a trophy…

Place cash. Earned income is necessary to further improve our PSR standing - especially with the large squad rebuild coming up.

A more obvious 5 at the back with a mixture of squad players and first team starters. I'd be looking to test Jack Harrison at wing-back. Something along these lines.

Pickman
Patterson JOB/Tarks Keane Branners Harrison
Garner Tim Alcaraz
Beto Ndiyae

True, but we get money for progression in the cup, plus potential home draw ticket revenue, plus potential tv money.

It’s not either or anyway, and often you’ll see a cup run help improve league form as much as the opposite but personally I’d rather we have a day out at Wembley (maybe even win something) and finish 14th in the league than get knocked out by Bournemouth and finish 11th regardless of the money.

The new ground and new 85% rule should mean we have big money to spend in the summer anyway.

Mm. Winning the cup is worth 2 million. Place by place is 3 million or just over. I'd like to seee the team get to the semi or final if only for the sake of yournger supporters who may not have had the chance to experience such a thing. Not, for me, however at the expense of the league.

In the end, I guess go out to win every game no matter the name of the competition but Davey has long form for sacrificing cups. It's a fine balance.

….i really don’t think these things are either/or. We’re not in Europe, there’s no replays so playing weekend to weekend is ideal for us.

We should go all out to win the Cup, especially if teams battling on a few fronts play fringe players.

One thing that wont happen is we wont treat the nighty Bournemouth like Real Madrid.

Same approach
Same energy
Same team
Same result

We win this 2-0
