Everything has gone well today.

EVERY one of our players worked so hard against City tonight. Hibbo, Heitinga, Neville, Drenthe, Fellaini, Baines Gibbo, Cahill, Donovan all put in their shifts.Was really impressed with Stracqualursi and how he never stopped running and chasing balls as well.

Absolutely over the moon right now! Such a fantastic performance. Hopefully we can keep this up through this next run of big games!
 
A brilliant win. The best i've seen them play this season, that's the REAL Everton - total commitment.

My MOTM: Royston Drenthe. Total commitment. Great defensive work and very exciting on the attack.

Runner up: Denis Straqualursi. Total commitment. Great defensive work and very exciting on the attack.

Honourable mention: Marouane Fellaini. Total commitment.

I would love to see Moyes playing Jelavic and Straqualursi as a partnership.

Baxter looked a bit anonymous, but of the starters, NOBODY had a bad game (although Donovan certainly didn't have one of his best). Total commitment. Beautiful stuff, even if it wasn't always, er, beautiful.

Now i'm going to spend the next hour on the BBC transfer page. With Kenwright down in London, who knows, maybe we'll pull Pienaar out of the hat.

City were ****e though but we did our job, did what we needed to do. Got lucky with the shot off the bar in the first half but other than i think 1 save early on Howard wasn't troubled.

And how the hell we kept a clean sheet against the league leaders and top scorers with Hibbert and Neville in defence i'll never know :D

Been way too long since we felt this good, once again it takes till the second half of the season to play well.

We still hoofed it a lot and did give the ball away BUT we also pinged it around a bit in parts and had some great passing exchanges. The build up to the goal was great and there were a few moments like that.

It was a defensive masterclass though. Sensational.

Special mention to the Stracq who I still maintain is a grock, but a big loveable one who's got a better workrate than the entire city team put together.
 

That was why i love everton....amazing...sure we produce some turgid stuff sometimes, but its nights like these that makes it all worthwile...

everyone was HUGE tonight...special mention to Johnny H (has come into his own since becoming the main man at the back ), The Straq (didn't think he had that kind of performance in him) and Landon Donovan (great outlet)
