Not looking forward to my flight over on Sat against non league opposition, looks out bottle of bleach for the game.
It was only him who kept us in it first half mate
A truly awful display , horrible season hitting a new low along with our attendance tonight , woeful stuff , can forget about doing anything in the league now , what little hope we did have coming into this , gone .
I've said it time and time again, our problems have nothing to do with playing 4-5-1.
More or less, we've been sloppy on possession, we've given away too many free kicks, and we've been sloppy with defending as well. Had none of this been the case, we still would be better off in the table than we are now.
This season we haven't had TOO much choice in terms of our midfield options with Arteta and Pienaar being shipped out. Cahill is better off being played higher up the pitch, Fellaini, Rodwell, Neville, and Heitinga are all defensive mids or center halves and Barkley is still VERY young. Our only other options are Osman, who is injured now, and Bily in the center of midfield which is not guaranteed to work.
With all that being said, we're still 11th place with a game in hand. In January, we need to either blood Barkley or we need to buy/loan some sort of creative, central mid. I think with Vellios, Stracq, Big Vic, McAleny, Donovan, and Big Vic all able to play up front we will be alright if we don't get another striker.
One other thing is that the injuries absolutely killed us in this match. You can bet Saha would have come off for Big Vic by the end of the match. Ossie was pretty bright in the first half as well.
