game was a joy to watch today.

donovan seemed to fade a bit though, i felt like his nerves got the better of him. early on in the match, heard the crowd chanting USA! USA! as he was taking a corner.

speaking of which, maybe let baines take some a them corners, eh donovan?

but whatever, such a good match today. played with a lot heart, and broadcast the type of talent our club really has.

when was the last time you saw a penalty given for shirt tugging ? - dont get me wrong more penalties SHOULD be given for it but you never see them do you unless im blind?

the referees have to be more consistant now when it comes to shirt tugging inside the penalty area which i aint got a problem with by the way (y)

Hull at Arsenal springs to mind.

There was one in the lower leagues as well which caused a bit of a stink i believe.

There should be more penalties given for things like this, problem is whenever a ref gives it theres a huge uproar and you get the stupid "oh thats never a penalty" line trotted out.

in all honesty i'll put this out there as an Evertonian i thought Mariner had ANOTHER [Poor language removed] game, I think he is a bollocks ref anyway

i did say i was all for more being given mate but the ref has set a president now
 
I agree with goat and bluemooner, the refs are ruining games because they are so inconsistant.
the linesman gave the pen, not the ref

Yeah but i don't think he has though.

Next game you watch you'll see loads of shirt pulls and headlocks and pushes going on in the box that won't be penalised.

There will be no consistency from refs on this issue until the FA decide to clamp down on it.

Will probably just carry on happening with the very occasional one actually given.
