Match Thread Everton 2-2 Man United. Sat Feb 22nd. 12.30.

They’re horrendous
They’re out of form
We’re in good form
We’re at home
We go in as favourites I’d say

Still think they’ll fluke a win again though.
I hate this fixture because it is the fixture that most accentuates our massive inferiority complex.

With Liverpool, the very fact that it is a blood feud, a derby, means we gather ourselves - no matter how bad we are and how good they are - and we throw what we have at it with fury. It doesn't always work, but given the usual disparity in quality between the two, we get better results that we are entitled to.

But all of those primal feelings disappear with United and we simply genuflect far too often for my comfort.

Even though they are now officially Ralph Milne/Billy Garton/Clayton Blackmore rubbish, we find a way to implode.

I expect nothing different today.

I wonder if it will be the other way around given Charlys new boy status and Utd being the big boys.
Not sure it would be right to drop a lad that got a goal and an assist for our goals in the last game, perhaps we see Harrison coming out, Alcaraz going wide and Doucs back in the 10.

Would kill his confidence......

Exactly what we need. Players with skill and creativity like Alcaraz to help us get the goals and then workhorses to see the game out. He can come on at 5-0 to give someone a rest.
Workhorses are needed throughout the game and Doucoure can play alongside Alcaraz and I’d have him before Lindstrom and Harrison any day of the week.

….so fantastic how our fortunes have been turned around and we now face another high-profile opponent wondering when this terrific run of results is going to end.

I think all the pressure is on them and perhaps their managers words this week (the worst United team ever) are an attempt to get a reaction. I remember a United team getting relegated. Watched them last week and they carry attacking threat, creating but not taking chances so we’ll have to defend better than we have recently but hopefully the winning run continues
