You know on another day this could have been a different result.

They hit the post at 0-0 with Pickford beaten.
They hit the bar at 1-1 and we score not long after.

I've said this before, in the game of football the aim isn't to hit the woodwork it's to hit the net. No points are awarded for hitting the frame of the goal. The game where the aim is to hit pieces of wood is called "cricket". One of the more annoying statements by commentators is "they were saved by the woodwork", something akin to "he hit that too well" and the like. Puke inducing .

Ah! Ray was also at Palace but so briefly you would hardly know. He limped off at half time in his debut at home to the RS, a 0-6 defeat. Before he recovered from his injury his contract was terminated so he could go and manage QPR. He would have been very young when you played against him.

To be honest, I’ve never minded. The great thing about GoT is the sense of realism. Anyhow, it’s an Everton forum, people are going to be pleased with the win, and why not? Our forums are the usual hotbed of name calling and disagreement as to whether things are just dandy or we are utterly, utterly doomed. So, no change really.

My sons partner and all her family are Palace season ticket holders
It’s the only away game I can get a ticket to ( normally in the home section )
All of them with one or two exceptions see 17th place and above as a good season
They realise the money is not there to compete and they don’t trust hodgson to spend the 70/80 m they would get for Zaharia well
After this season they would take the money and hope for the best
I spent from 3 o clock yesterday till 9 o clock last night on the beer with them
One lad is a non drinker and they hired a mini bus to bring them up lol

Hodgson is way too comfortable buying players who are clearly past their best.

At 2-1 Pickford makes an instinctive vital save which many of you reckon he doesn't do anymore.

We never controlled the game until we got the 3rd, then we looked really good!

Now many of you didn't like the team selection, yet by hook or by crook it got the job done.
I thought the general quality of football played by Palace was better than the general quality of football played by Everton.
The finishing of Richy and Bernie were high quality and they are what separated us.
It was a good game for Carlo to judge and evaluate players and see how some of those players fit into a team.

The rest of the season will be a bit hit and miss I expect.
To go from relegation zone to European contenders in two months says much about the quality of the Prem.
It is as poor as it has ever been.

Get to May without too many shockers and let Carlo weave his magic.

Agree; We had a nightmare 90 seconds against Newcastle. If that had not happened we would have had a different result. We would have Won, but we didn't.

No. I'm saying what happened has happened and it's done. Newcastle we should have won, but we didn't.

Watford, we probably should have lost, but we won.

Crystal Palace, under Silva, at one all, we probably lose, but we won.

Let's sit back, relax, allow our team to aim for 4th, and see what happens.

7 points in 3 games. Doesn't matter about the poor performance, we were brilliant against Newcastle and didn't win. Look at the overall picture. We have almost everybody fit, we have a little break now and go to Arsenal in form and refreshed. 4 points from Arsenal and United would be brilliant. I don't do the 2 draws scenario, we may as well win one and lose one. All about points now. Some players are stepping up to Carlo and some players aren't.
