Tomorrow will set the tone for the rest of the season imo.

Win and we have a healthy gap and if we get a couple of new players in and go forward with a bit of optimism.

Lose and it’s back to teeth gnashing and doom and gloom.

Two players down from the starting XI from last week, with Garner and Beto in the line up.

Tim probably replacing Garner on the bench and who knows, maybe we can get another keeper on the bench in case Beto gets injured.

Totally agree but it's Everton. What could possibly go wrong. But I'm going to be optimistic we won a few games on the run at the end of last season which got us safe. Hopefully same this season. So a win tomorrow will probably get us safe🤞🤞

Leighton Baines scores for Everton in the 91st minute of this Carabao Cup quarter final tie against Leicester City played at Goodison Park on the 18th December 2019.

They mullered us for the vast majority of that game and we somehow scored 2 late goals and then in typical Everton fashion lost on penalties.

I think when we see the team tomorrow, it's going to really highlight the lack of quality and depth in the squad. I reckon we are down to maybe 13 or 14 senior outfield players?

It's all about getting a result tomorrow, even if it's not pretty. A win would be huge, but a draw isn't a disaster either. It's a must not lose game rather than a must win game.

If we play with intensity like we did at home against Spurs, I think we will get chances. Their defence is far from one of the better units in the league.

Apart from being worried that we might run out of keepers to put on the bench at this rate, I remain optimistic about tomorrow.

Curse you Everton and your hope raising ability.

17-0, 16 being own goals from Steptoe Vardy.

Who said the standard of football ‘journalism’ was atrocious?

Orel Mangala suffered a knock on his previous outing but it wasn’t too serious.
It means he will be deployed alongside Idrissa Gueye in the middle of the park yet
again.”
This is great news! DCL and Mangala back in will be a huge lift!!! What a relief!!!

Great work wansh- surprised he doesn't think barkley is in the team

The reports of DCL & Mangala recovering are surprising… It’d be a great if it was true, but I’ll be amazed…

Massive game this weekend… We can take a big step to recovery if we get 3 points…

Everton will be tested, but if I have nothing else I have faith

They’re not true mate. Mangala is out for 6-8 months. Dom is off to see a specialist second opinion about his hamstring.

Honestly, who the hell gets up and writes such crap? I know football seems important, but someone has actually made that up for some reason.. What a waste of time… He can’t even call himself a journalist, it’s just a waste of a persons time and energy… It wasn’t even believable! He might have well written “Messi to play for Everton for free”

The tone will also be dictated by what happens with transfers. If we lose tomorrow and fail to get desperately needed reinforcements, then it could undo a lot of the initial positivity of the last week or 2 (rightly or wrongly).

Let's hope we get the job done either way tomorrow, regardless of how ugly it is.
