Personally I think for anyone who goes to Split it will be one of the best away games they've been to. The Balkans is probably the most beautiful region in the world and has the best food in the world. I think as long as our fans don't take the piss out their fans in the first leg, Everton fans will be welcomed with open arms by the locals. Very few away games, do you have the chance to relax on the seafront having a beer before watching Everton. Yes the atmosphere will be bonkers at the game, but I don't think there will be any racist abuse or anything like that at the game. Most of that is only done to wind up the corrupt Croatian FA, not a genuine display of bigotry. If anyone has still yet to book their flights and struggling to get a cheap flight to Croatia, I'd recommend flying to Germany and then to Croatia. There tends to be lots of flights to the balkans because there are 1.5 million people of Yugoslav heritage.

You can't realize why is that sitting in your comfy chair looking European football stars ( most vastly overpayed ) play in front of you each week with enough money to attend each of those games without giving it a thought - but we're proud of our support given all the facts accounted for.

This.friday was definitely not the usual game for us, but I can understand how from an English perspective 10k is a bad attendance. To put things in perspective, it's more than all the rest of the league, combined. And thats your 'small' match, at derbies we get more than other teams.in our.league get in a season. The croatian league has such a horrible reputation for match fixing, political interference and being just downright illegal (Dinamo having two teams in the first division) that its a wonder that anyone at all shows up. European matches are a whole different thing, since you can expect normal referees we hardly ever get less than 20k even for the second qualification round...
These are problems you've never ever had in your life, and be thankful for it. How I would like that watching football was just about football...
