Its really bad PR, remember the [Poor language removed] toys r us git for sueing a shop called vegtable r us. Or what ever it was.If you read the last couple of pages you will see there is a perfectly legitimate bigger picture to this.
Something core to the potential health of the club. If no action is taken.
I don't consider it pathetic or not acting grown up.
In the real world companies all the time seek to protect their IP.
This is no different.

She in a village called Everton. What if there a school called Everton primary? We going to sue them as well? Or what about the local garage thier calked Everton motors. Maybe we should just sue the village to change its name, then once were done we can sue Everton mints.
Its a pointless exercise that brings bad PR in a battle we lose because the village is called Everton.
Its not bad PR.
I cannot fathom why you think its bad PR.
Scenario: Some clown produces 100,000 fake Everton scarves and tries to sell them at £5.00 a pop. Turns out they are flammable. So in addition to trademark infringement, the club has fans walking round with flammable scarves on.
That would be bad PR! 'CHILD BURNT BY FAKE EVERTON SCARF' etc etc
Can you not see the issue?
If Everton Football Club cannot control its IP or prevent people from misappropriating it then we really will have issues.
I also make this point. Intellectual Property can only be enforced if the holder of it wants to enforce it.
This is a good thing in the bigger picture. The woman should have thought about it beforehand. Is this logo REALLY a good idea?
Its their fault for using it knowing a big football club might not be too happy about it.
Lol at this, not really a good example to use. Killer scarves v bunches of carrots !
Its a brilliant real world example.
Its a slippery slope from bunches of carrots to killer merchandise.
