Despite some of the things said about him in another thread yesterday and previously, our former poster, @The Esk , has penned the following article following the events and unveilings of last Thursday evening, and is happy for me to share it with GOT.

I'd ask/suggest that everyone park their (in some cases rather jaundiced) opinions on Esk and read the article for what it says and the questions it raises.

As you and others know, I know Esk, and like him.

Re the article, it basically says he hasnt been told who else, if anyone, is sharing the load. And as my stance on all things BMD/Moshiri has been a constant one of a wider game being played, I would suggest that it is all boxed off.

1. Don’t think we need praise for doing what we’re doing.

2. Didn’t they announce that the L4 Project is government funded or something? I read a 100m figure on Thursday.

Nope, I didn't hear that on Thursday evening... the £100m figure I'm sure was an estimated cost.

Denise says the legacy proposal is a £100m civic inheritance project that will build on the existing facilities in the shadow of Goodison Park, including The Everton Free School, The People's Hub, The Blue Base and planned People's Place.

Whatever that mean.

Grants available iirc. Housing associations, well funded charities, central govt.

In a nutshell, the £100m finance will not be a wedge just from the club

Good to know that it will not be a financial millstone round the club's neck in future years ;)

Think that means the cost value of the Legacy Project is £100m not that they've got funding in place to provide it.

As above.

Hard to believe the club will be paying £100m to leave when they're offering up so many opportunities for housing etc to sponsor/be a part of it.

Well I dont know that for certain, but in my experience, if the GP footprint is made available for all the good stuff we talked about, there will be plenty of other agencies who will like to take advantage of the offer.

Any chance of you crawling out of The Esk's arse anytime soon?

I assumed the club's contribution would be the land, or at least that part of it devoted to social provision?
