Total and utter nonsense planted by the club. I mean seriously mate, that Diaz 'bid' was apparently structured as some kind of swap deal that involved James Rodriguez, a 30 year crock who everyone and their granny knew we were desperate to get off the wage bill.

We spent £1.7 million in the summer because we had £1.7 million to spend. Why do you think an out of work former RS manager who lived around the corner had a pretty much free run at the job? Why do you think Carlo Ancellotti referred to us as a Fiat 500 last week?

We are in absolute dire straights with Premier League Profit and Sustainability rules, and will be for a good while longer.

Agree i would have no problem him and another cm come in then to replace others as a squad option. As a starter is worrying

Not for me think would be a good option then hopefully could sell to make a profit on him. Cant see us doing major changes to the team whicnwould help give time to develop other like the kid at cm we have

True get your point i was more thinking with delph gomes and maybe davies to go. Yeah i kno he was in the side but honestly havent got any idea why he isnt getting a game. Do agree wish we could bring better wuality in

To be fair, he was very good when Rafael was in charge at Newcastle. Its not saying much but he's better than nearly all our current options.

Longstaff stats for a DM aren’t bad, he’s similar to Allan in that respect. On a free he isn’t. A bad signing. If he’s the only signing in Jan then that’s a different matter.

Longstaff is very good at pressing the ball - don’t think his quality is what we need but we are in such a dreadful place financially that some extra legs in midfield might be the best we can hope for - which is a sorry state of affairs.
