For the second time, where are the that stats are equal to Robertson’s for Scotland? Robertson hasn’t even been ‘great’ for Scotland but this is nonsense

Just because your quick doesn’t mean you can defend anymore than being slow means you can’t defend

Yes. Anyone who’s watched Scotland or Rangers has
He was a calamity defensively against Israel at home
Moldova away he was all over the place defensively and routinely targeted and gave away a stupid penalty
Against Lyon he played Lyon’s striker through one on one with his own keeper in literally the final few seconds
He was the worst Rangers player on the park against Dunfermline who were bottom of the Championship in Scotland at the time and on something like a 10 game losing streak
That’s just this season

For the people who don’t/haven’t watched him. Just think why he wasn’t trusted at u21 level to play RB, it wasn’t even a natural RB that played there ahead of him…
Why isn’t he trusted enough even to give a journeyman in Tavernier a rest against the dross of the SPFL…
Why are his only minutes coming on as part of a front 3 when games are dead…

The fact you can go on Rangers forums and see the amount of people happy to take the money for him says it all. Patterson is more rated on here than any Scottish or Rangers forum on the internet which is genuinely bizarre

Tbf you can come on here and see supposed blues wanting anything that looks bad for Everton. Those types are everywhere.

….you post as though you know what is happening when you’re as clearly in the dark as the rest of us.

What is absolutely clear is that Brands has not been in control of transfer activity, yet you continue to blame him because it’s suits your agenda. You want managerial control, yet managers have been able to bring their own players in. The problem is, so has Moshiri.

- When Koeman was here we had the incredible situation of Walsh, Koeman and Moshiri bringing in their own players.

- Brands was more circumspect. He has made it clear he brings no players in without the Managers say so. Various managers he’s worked with accept his recommendations to varying degrees. In the meantime, they bring in their own players as does Moshiri.

- Benitez appears to have made it clear to Brands that he won’t consider his suggestions. This makes Brands role untenable and he resigns. The indication is that the new LB is a Moshiri signing. We don’t know for certain, but there have been posts on here suggesting this. As previously, at the moment the situation could be that Benitez and Moshiri are bringing in their own targets.

I won’t defend Brands but blaming him for everything masks the real problems at our club.
"I won’t defend Brands but...." - except for all that ^^^ nonsense above.

Accept it: you backed a clueless get who was rightly binned, and now you refuse to believe his role going makes no difference.

You're bankrupt here. Go and rethink your flawed assessment.

He isn’t. There’s two players at the club at £100k or above, and he isn’t one of them - instead it’s high tens of thousands.

Spotrac are probably the most reliable when it comes to sporting players' salaries, they have him in £119k, second only to Yerry Mina.

Just going off what I've read. Their rules are basically wolves at the door warnings for them to peak their nose in. Hence why it's rolling but doesnt mean once if gets out of hand, you can't recall and balance before setting out again. It's about the ability to control your clubs finances.

When I say "reset" 'm not saying it starts again...I'm saying it makes the league back off once were in a sustainable position in their FFP position.

If it wasn't the case, we wouldn't be spending what we are in Jan...and there would have to be a substantial player transfer going out.

If we sign players worth £50mil on 5 year deals it means were spending £10mil in Jan.

If we sell Holgate (for example) for £10mil weve spent zero net for FFP.

Given we signed both from Barca, it’s not hard to believe they would be our two highest paid players.

Tosun is on more than Digne, and he’s on £100k(ish). There’s only two at the club over the £100k mark and Digne isn’t one of them.

People can take it as they will.

….but surely we can do better than him.
You’d like to think so. But the January window is tough most years never mind with Covid. If he fills a gap for the back end of the season then fine. I’d want someone better on a permanent in the summer.

Of course.

But the main post was how are we spending £40mill now rather than in the summer. Was explaining we've cleared our losses with sale that gives us leg room to carry out as you mentioned.

We're the only club in the league in the red for FFP which Im sure we've cleared.

So it appears we may be spending close to 40m this window with the very real possibility of only a loan out for Digne.

Either FFP was a simply a cover story for an unwillingness to spend in the summer, or we are prepared to run the risk regardless now.

My suspicion is it’s the former with the board now worried about our terrible form and acting accordingly.

FFP has never been an issue.
