That would be his value if he had a 5 year contract. He's got less than 6 months on this one and can't get in an awful, simply awful Newcastle side.

I don’t think they have a choice because it’s a clause in his contract, I think they’ll get a good replacement.

He’s only got 3 goals this season though. I imagine Burnley will have targets lined up.

Seems an odd signing for Newcastle as he’s hardly prolific but he may get more chances created at Newcastle.

What I find interesting so far is apart from the low cost signings of Gray, Townsend etc, Benitez hasn’t been given any money to spend yet we have still signed players. Has Moshiri decided not to give this manager any money and we have just targeted previous targets? Maybe that means Benitez is just here in the interim or I’m looking at it all wrong ???

Just for clarity:

Chris Woods turned 30 in December and he has a release clause for £20m which Newcastle have met.

Lucas Digne is also 28 until July. He has never been 29.
