Think anyone on the board is concerned about the midfield? That just maybe it might be the reason that we go down despite a new manager? Would be nice. Hopefully will hear some movement on that front shortly after a manager is announced.

Branthwaite is going to be far superior to Keane...its a must sell for Keane, Mina and Holgate in the summer.

Well, Gilmour was class under Lampard...could be that he comes in for a 'fair' fee through a loan to buy.

Gallagher looks class of course...Rice, while tongue in cheek...you never know with Lampard being in love with him.
I was not including Rice. Gilmour ain’t going to cut it in the PL for me

I don't know if you want to have trust in the board regarding footballing matters, you're just setting yourself up for disappointment. Bill probably thinks Gbamin is the next Scholes

Sean Longstaff 'tracking' Everton's manager hunt

Sean Longstaff is claimed to be “tracking” Everton's managerial hunt as he ponders his Newcastle future.

The midfielder was previously tracked by ex-Blues boss Rafael Benitez, the manager who gave Longstaff his debut at his boyhood club.

[Publication is blacklisted due to spam] reports, via The Athletic, that the 24-year-old is concerned Benitez’s departure will “impact” his potential move to Goodison.

The report went on to claim that Longstaff’s hopes of joining Everton have now decreased, though the Toffees have identified a need for midifield recruitments.

I imagine Alli will be moved for on loan - it'll be a choice between us and Newcastle. Imagine the player will want to come with Lampard here.

We only, stupidly, have one PL loan to spare so they might have to find some cash down the back of the sofa. Or perhaps the loan does get used on RLC. I can't imagine Barkley will be first pick. Lampard didn't rate him that much

EVERTON HAVE NOW JOINED ARSENAL IN RACE FOR £15M MIDFIELDER

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol has said on The Transfer Show on Sky Sports News that Villa midfield Luiz is among the players Everton are looking at signing in the January transfer window.

Solhekol said on Sky Sports’ The Transfer Show (January 28, 2021): “Everton could make a late move for a midfielder before the window closes.

Buy back clauses are fine imo as long as theyre in our favour.

E.g if he costs £25mil and the buyback is within 2 seasons and for £50/60mil then no problem.

The MEN today saying Newcastle and Arsenal are likely in for DCL in the summer and touting United as a club who should join the race.

If PSG come in for Richarlison and theres 3 clubs in for DCL there could be a few changes in the squad this summer.

Problem we have is that Gomes, Mina, Keane, Holgate, Iwobi, Gbamin, Rondon and Davies should be pushed out along with the players out of contract in summer.

If we can move those 8 players out then we'll have a lot of room in the budget.
So you are saying that we replace ten squad players plus the ‘players’ leaving on a free?

Loftus-Cheek is certainly injury prone, but he would be perfect for us on a loan. He's a true midfielder unlike Dele. While I think Chelsea likely want to hold on to both, I'd like to see us go hard for Gilmour and Gallagher in the summer.

Or obviously non Chelsea players too, but this is where the speculation starts at least.
