The thing is, Richarlison is in the team anyway so if he moves up front and we replace him with Townsend or whoever we still lose that goal threat. We've needed a good second striking option for as long as I can remember but it's like everyone's just got so used to us never having one that they've forgotten it's actually a pretty major thing.

Not really, I’m not even sure DCL and Richy play well together. they never seem on the same page. We now have players to rotate

i spent the night watching Donny's time at Ajax and he played deeper and won the ball back all the time. Maybe the plan was always to play him in a deeper No6 role rather than a No10 assuming we can get a 10

A mate of mine is a united fan and a deep laying playmaker would suit him

They don't play well together, but i'm not really sure what you mean with the rest of it. For me, another striker is something we should have been looking at every window for the last however many years, but we've just never done it. Some teams have 5 or 6 strikers but we seem determined to just stick with 1, and if he gets injured or is out of form we either keep playing him anyway or rejig the entire team to put someone else there.

Perhaps Lampards looked at our performances and decided we needed to create more chances so he is focused on that. He wouldn't be wrong to be honest. After FSW booted James and Digne where do we thinks goal chances were coming from, Gomes? Godfrey?
Its possible to train the defence to be better but magic is inate. Not suggesting VDB or Alli are magic... yet.

With a potential midfield of Allan/DVB/ Alli and front three of Richy/DCL/Gray we are going to be pretty attacking, concern is lack of mobility and balance.
