Everton January 2022 Transfer Thread

This is all great, but our major problem is defence. Our defence is appauling, and we don't seem to be in for any defenders
We've scored 8 goals in our last 10 games, let's not pretend we've got no problems going forward.

Our biggest issue by far is that we can't control a game because our midfield is absolutely useless. I'm not convinced that we've properly addressed the problem because i'd have really liked us to get a defensive midfielder to shield the defence a bit more, but if we can actually start passing to our own players then we may find ourselves under a bit less pressure.

Sure Lampard wanted James Tarkovski at Chelsea but got KBd by the board.
At the time it sounded a lot better than it does now. Chelsea's defense was very creaky (don't really know how much of that was on Lampard) and he wanted a solid option to add to the mix, which he then got in Thiago Silva. And now Tarkowski has had a pretty torrid season, so hopefully we will have our sights set higher.

I think this is a very good deal...potentially an amazing one.
To each their own. Listen I might change my tune slightly depending on the amount he's garnered for. And I admit I could be wrong and it might end up a masterstroke as the talent is there. It has more upside rationale than past blunders, but on near every factor there isn't enough for me to hold on to. And considering overlap with past precedent and our just general clubs ability for blunders I hope for more business thats stark in its rationale.

The potential of him getting back to form I expect that less likely than more likely. His movability if he simply stays the same quality very unlikely. His wages although not horrendous compared to our books, a fact thats hardly a vote of confidence. Yes with the safety net of him expiring but a fact that leaves me more perplexed in how it will evolve considering our teams board, than comforted.

Entering today if I had two key areas worth addressing it would have been a six based on Lampard's past teams, our defensive woes, and striker cover. Both thosee dont look likely to be addressed which I find a bit cooncerning.

I can see the need for some more assurance or improvement with a line breaking mid in DVB. It's a fair loan at the least for a player worthy of intrigue especially on a non committal basis.

The likes of Alli on a permanent is personally ludicrous. To sort out someone who has been inconsistent if not difficult off the pitch, the inverse should be represented by the club they are going to. We are as much a mess as Alli has been for the last two years. You earn the right to take risk like that and base on almost all indicators we have not.

Dele Alli is such a Moshiri Everton move and that is not a good thing.

Demari Gray, young lad highly touted, then from 20-25 did absolutely nothing had his desire and attitude questioned then came here and similar stuff to the tripe you just spouted was being said about a player who'd never produced at the level Ali has.

Not very confident then

….I’d prefer him on loan rather than a costly permanent deal, but I’d be ok if Lampard sees him as an essential part of how he wants to play. if we’re offering a permanent deal it suggest the manager really wants him.

The key is, footballers fitting the playing strategy. its up to Lampard now so the club should give him as much as he wants within our financial restrictions.

Mirrors my own thoughts pretty much mate, I can't look past how good he was fir the last manager to put faith in him who played a system that suits. Mourinho clearly had a problem with him and Conte hasn't bothered trying to repair it
