Good window for us in my mind. Two young promising full backs, good midfielder on loan, great free transfer in Dele if he can recapture any sort of form and even El Ghazi is a decent addition to have from the bench instead of Iwobi for example.
Obviously sour to lose Digne in the way that we did and being unable to shift anyone else but most importantly our biggest business this January was getting shut of Benitez and bringing in Lampard. Personally I think he has a lot to prove and by no means a guarantee but I think everyone can get behind a team win, lose or draw with someone like him potentially building something here.
At this point in the season safety is all I’m concerned with, go again next year and use this half of the season after we hopefully get safe to bed in players, try things and explore just what sort of level the young players are at. I’d like Branthwaite especially to become a regular and get some real game time.
