Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

It is very frustrating for everyone though. New owners, a transfer window and yet again, nothing. It’s so typical Everton. What would be more typical now is Beto pulling his hammy in training and us having to play with no forward.
Could be worse, could be the barcodes with the “richest owner in the world” yet having to sell their squad and going backwards on the pitch.

One fit striker...

One LB...

The players are there if you have a competent recruitment team, Thelwell has to go, too many times he has left gaping holes in this squad, seems like every window he fails to address the real issues...

This is why Everton will never be anything than mediocre, we will never win a trophy or qualify for the Champions League in the next 40 years.

Small club mentality!

mate stop it.

Firstly, with our current squad & the inevitable highs & lows of squad fitness I still think we have enough to stay up.
I get the strategy of keeping our powder dry until the summer (which i personally favour albiet slightly) but the problem with that is every single selling club knows we have to buy. Price just went up. We also have to have a good chunk of them in well before the start of the season & not wait until the end of the window after 4 games with a squad of 12 players.
I do think a little too much faith is being put by the club in our recruitment abilities. This window alone shows we are not exactly great at it.
I trust Moyes with the type of player he wants but not the way he goes about it. I also think Moyes has won the battle of who has the say on what player comes in which is fine but it possibly means Thelwell is out come the summer so where is his motivation to do all the ground work for the early summer deals we will desperately need.
Thelwell could easily stay on though so him & Moyes better get on the same page quick for next season or else we are potentially buggered.
They are gambling here on several fronts (future injuries, points accrued & summer transfer market ability) it better bloody well pay off.

Course we will fight for those positions. They came in mid season when we couldn’t win a game. So then sacked the manager. There’s no point saying we want Europe this season when half a season had gone before they could do anything. We aren’t getting Europe so it’s irrelevant where we finish from 8-17th.

January windows are crap, players cost more than they should and the ones available tend to be the bang average players, injury prone players or players with issues. Wasting money now for the sake of it means the rebuild in summer is harder.

This season, because of the crap football during the first half of the season under a different owner and manager, is all about getting safe. Then we show the ambition.

think he’s having a break down
that we aren’t signing 65 players and challenging for the top 4

these inept owners been here a month!!!

honestly some people
