Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

To finish up, Thelwell is in the position now that zero excuses cut the mustard, he's had time, he has some funds available and the squad has very very obvious needs.

The manager is a known commodity, Jesus most evertonians can tell you what type of player Moyes prefers in various roles, a DoF should know it by heart. Moyes similarly can't get overly involved in negotiations but has to be given a say, but not one were he takes ten days to give an answer.

Fair enough, but right now the days are ticking down mate, and there is the growing feeling of past windows excuses coming in 12 days time.

Would anyone now be shocked if deadline day isn't taken up with the saga of us trying to negotiate an end to Brojas loan so we can loan another in, only for negotiations to break down at the last minute over the payment, I sure as hell won't be.

Following that post yesterday which stated that Moyes has a long, lengthy list of requirements to be met by potential targets, I assume that it is not down to kev but Davey. This is not the first time he has dithered in the window (sounds like a red light district). It seems Moyes due diligence is the issue

Was never gonna happen, Sunderland aren't selling their captain this late on with promotion a real possibility.

From a fan perspective selling him AND to Moyes of all people would turn the place toxic - they detest Moyes there

Be interesting to hear what Moyes says today.

Rumours that Mangala was injured in training which should hopefully increase the urgency.

The odds on Mangala or Gueye getting injured increases every game we have to leave them on the full 90 due to lack of options when they are running on fumes, same goes for Doucoure btw, he was gassed after 60 last match plays the full 90, great way to see the hammy pop again.

But yeah Moyes presser will be an interesting one for sure, will likely tell straight away how happy he is with stuff happening behind the scenes or not.

Maybe it will, maybe it weren’t. Personally will just wait till the window ends then evaluate how it went.

Ok I shall hold off for one full calendar week.

But can we at least agree it's a Netto reduced aisle kind of situation if we have not made any moves / had credible rumours of imminent transfers at the end of this period?

If we sign no one by the end of the window then you can fume all you like.

Who knows its everton so maybe the misanthropes will be validated in their dread , at the same time if quality mid-season replacements on a limited budget are sought with a new manager known for being extended in his scouting maybe there's a possibility they're trying to attain a decent player who isn't a panic buy also its January its not like the best players are just waiting to be extracted from their club usually its excess players , ones not fitting in with a club's plan and those players even good ones sometimes don't become available until a chain of transfers make it possible. Hey I don't know maybe those freaking out regularly are right but won't know till the end of the window so you can keep pooping your pants until then but maybe it might not be necessary either
