Everton January 2025 Transfer Thread

Not at all. Just the idea of Moyes as a transfer market guru is for the birds. Absolute joke.

Richard Wright

Per Kroldrup
Mustafi
Eddy Bosnar
Oviedo

Anderson Silva
Simon Davies
Bilyaletdinov
Van der Mayde

James Beattie
Andy Johnson

Out of you're list Oviedo would be our starting left back, Johnson would definitely add much needed pace to our attack.
Right let's see now, from what I can remember, Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman, straight in today's team., Lescott, Distin, Jagielka, Yobo, Richard Gough. Yakubu, Saha, Rooney, Arteta, Cahill, Fernandes, Fellaini, Tim Howard, Piennar, Mirallas. How many of them would walk into our team ? And don't forget Moyes had to sell to buy continously, imagine if he didn't have to. I did think in the end he stayed too long, got stale but that was natural the actual time he was here. Moyes made mistakes but he was far more hit than miss. Don't expect you to agree with me but who cares, everyone has an opinion.

I think we need permanent signings this month not loans

We are going to need to sign about 8-10 players in the summer when everyone's contract has expired or the loans go back.

2 permanent by Thursday please so they are registered for the weekend.

When Beattie joined in 04/05 it was only the 40th most expensive deal that season.

When Johnson signed in 06/07 it was the 29th.

Yeh “top” purchases.

Talking rubbish as usual. That's not how I remember it and a quick Google confirms it.

Beattie was bought for the same price as Anelka and Morientes that window. Andy Johnson was on fire at Palace.

Saha and Yakubu were they only two decent strikers we had in 11 years. Rooney came through despite Moyes. He'd have been on the bench until United bought him if it'd have been left to Moyes.

Signing good striker was never his thing. Defenders and Mrs, yes. Strikers, by and large, no.

Moyes played him at 16 you plank  as for you're quote on strikers he wasn't exactly bankrolled was he.

Forgot one of the best there mate, Martyn. I'd also stick Neville in there too, couldn't stand him sometimes but he added a lot of experience, also Heitinga - was great for a couple of seasons even won our PotS once if I remember correctly

@Charlie Sweet what’s your beef?
your moaning in every thread

I'm fine. Just don't like this idea that Moyes era was some golden age. It was good in part but my God it was frustrating at times.

Look I was against DM as a return to our club as you should never go back - but under the circumstances he stated last night he is here only short term - you are annoying posters because 3 games = 6 points & goals - more than Dyche would have achieved - he had lost the plot the Broja deal with his DOF proves that - plus all the targets for January under those two not one come in as yet -

DM stated last night on MOTD he will go into the championship if need be as he wants players in as two players yesterday received very bad long term injuries in his opinion -

So far so good, his aim is to keep us in the prem for our ground move, he stated that on MOTD too....

You cannot go back in history on him - end of, he is our Manager & we have to back him as blues ....
Moan all you want we are where we are past management & DOF & owners have put us where we are, not DM.....

Cheers Joey. Fine and agreed. Hope youre well

Richarlison is far too injury prone for us to risk, not sure why people want him back
You do know , we’ve been fed a diet of dire football , average at best footballers who if they have a modicum of talent can’t wait to go and then we had Richarlison . A player who , if any player can , got the club and fans .

Richarlison had talent , gave us someone to get behind, Someone who seemed to care and annoyed the RS no end . I’m not saying bringing him back is the best idea but you can see why he creates such emotion amongst a fan base starved of entertainment and excitement.
