Everton January transfer window 2021

Obviously a long shot, but if we get CL, and we pay nice wages

With Carlo here I think we would have a decent chance at getting Donnarumma

Wouldn't be long term as his agent loves moving players about, but CL football in the most watched league in the world under Ancelotti is a good deal

Hes been brilliant this season

I suggested Sirigu & Joronen in the summer, Sirigu has had his first average season in a long time and Joronen has continued his great form from Serie A in the division below

Contract expires in June...if we are going after him then it has to be on a precontract agreement now.

In the summer he'll have lots of offers.

Show Raiola the money...

Zat we've got 56 centre halves mate!

Unless Tomori has turned into a striker I can be you 10p we won't be going in for him

....more than happy with Godfrey, Zat. Just need to play him in his proper position and I have a feeling Branthwaite could be very good.

i suggest priorities lie elsewhere.

We've got 4 CBs, Zat

If we have the 4 Centre backs as actual centre backs and bring in a right back then...agreed.

However, of the 4 we have:

Keane / Mina who are quite similar
Holgate who is a leader and all rounder
Godfrey who is rapid and potentially top notch

I was more thinking along the lines that if we want to play a high line against some of the bottom half sides (or even against sides like West Ham who were defensive) then it would be good to have the option to play two centre backs with pure pace.

Godfrey + Tomori are both extremely quick and we could sit on the half way line in games, knowing they can catch any forwards who beat the offside trap.

In addition, it would enable us the option to go 3 at the back. Something not many are fond of but an option nontheless which Ancelotti seems to want.

Mina and Keane are tall and strong in the air. The other two not as sure, yet but they are much quicker in particular Godfrey.

I don’t think Ancelotti wants to play a back 3. Going forward I suppose, it depends on what system he wants to play.
After not looking great defensively early on, he gone back to a more defensive system, which has worked but as we seen v West Ham. A team that does to us what we’ve been doing, we haven’t got a lot of quality to break them down.

James & Digne out, Richarlison off from We don’t have much else, missed Iwobi as well.

I don’t see long term Ancelotti playing a defensive system like Jose at spurs. Amd Godfrey hasn’t been signed to just cover the full back positions for the next 5yrs. He will be one of our CB’s and I don’t see Mina or Keane Being in the team in 18 months time.

He has been Milan's no 1 since he was about 16. While they were struggling in mid table. He's not going to leave them now that they are top of the league. And if he does, it will be to Real, Barca etc, not us

Branflakes?

He’ll only go to a CL club and unless it’s someone like PSG I can’t see him signing a deal earlier than he needs to.

If anything he’ll drag it out until the summer when hopefully many clubs are more confident financially.

If we wanna be able to play 3 at the back then we need a left-footer.

we also have Branthwaite

I kind of see your point Zat but CB is one of the only areas we’re well stocked in it seems, with no noticeably big drop off between each player, either

as a matter of priority this window I think we need a forward - someone with pace and power who knows where the net is.

Next in line are a right-back and then, IMO, a midfielder or two.

I say or two because we probably need a defensive mid and someone who is more creative and can carry the ball/commit defenders. However, we have Gbamin to come back who could fill one of those roles.

However, it’s unlikely we’re gonna get more than one - 2 if we’re lucky - of the above four in this window. Which is fine, it’s a process, but we need one player at least. That doesn’t mean I want us to panic and get anybody, but if we’ve had somebody lined up for the summer, or have been extensively scouting them, then make the move now

Just cannot see any credible links to this Caciedo fella - is there anything from our local news? It all seems to be from their end which makes me suspicious (not an attack on South American/Ecuadorean news, just that they have reasons to generate fake interest to quicken bids)
I’d love it to be concrete like as he looks very promising, just super super skeptical
