Everton January transfer window 2021

Will be amazed if Moyes isn't in for King.

I guess it comes down to whether you'd swap Bernard and Cenk for Olsen and King.

To be honest, now that Cenk is sort of fit again, it would be interesting to see what he can do with James service. He isn't very mobile but he does score the odd goal.

Thats fine but weve got 5 centre forwards on the books.

Think we need to sell one or two before signing any more.

Im disappointed only Pennington has gone, we need to move on a huge number of players eating away wages.
Where are you getting 5 centre forwards from?! I make it three, and one of them is out on loan and could surely be sold at the drop of a hat if that's what we want to do.

We don't need a striker, we need an all-round forward - there's a difference. My point is that was the case in October and it's the case now. Difference is we're somehow still in a very, very good position to be able to push on for EL or top four. But we need a player or two.

Van Dijk, Fernandes - two very recent examples of players bought in January who massively improved a PL side. Haaland last Jan for Dortmund.

I'm not saying we should go out and spend £40/50m this window. If we could, it would be lovely. But there are deals to be done and value to be found. If we have a plan for the summer (for example, Bailey) then why not move for it now? Push the boat out because that extra gamble could well get us CL football. And if not, well we have a load of tosh on a combined 300k a week leaving in June, and the likelihood is we'd have to seel Richarlison regardless if we didn't make Europe. Balance it out.

That was always a given though. They key player for me is that 3rd man in midfield like a Fernandes etc that are more attainable in January than specialised positions such as a forward.

DCL
Richarlison
Kean
Tosun
Simms

= 5
Simms has never stepped on the pitch in a senior game and has only made the bench about twice. If you're counting him you may as well count every striker from under 12s up. Richarlison is our first choice on the left. He could theoretically fill in up front (as could anyone else really) but counting him as a striker in terms of his wages is just bending the facts to try and make a coherent point. And failing.

jovic all day long, quality. did great in germany, built like a brick outhouse, natural scorer. still a bebecito.
Finally some decent shouts for decent players. If we could get Jovic in on loan that would be decent business i would thing.

To be honest, now that Cenk is sort of fit again, it would be interesting to see what he can do with James service. He isn't very mobile but he does score the odd goal.
Cenk might not be the most mobile, but he’s twice the finisher King is. If he actually plays a bit going forward, i would not be surprised if he scores some goals for us.

Not the most popular opinion but just get Aarons for right back now before it's too late and the mancs step in. Fill in the Norwich parcel with Buendia and also get Toney for striker backup. But that would cost a lot... So get King in his place, but the two Norwich lads are a must for our squad right now.

There's probably only two strikers in the premier league bought in January that have panned out. Suarez and Aubameyang.

It's a dodgy time.

*Will gladly be corrected
I think it depends what you class as 'panned out' really. I've said before, I think January signings are sometimes held to a higher standard than summer ones, with only people who become massive stars (like the 2 you mentioned) being classed as good business. Anyone who just comes in and improves their team and becomes a solid dependable player is just ignored in order to push the idea of January being a poor time to do deals. Someone who came in and just freshened things up and became a good squad option could make a huge difference to us this season.

I think Richarlison has to be considered a genuine option at centre forward, but, with Kean on loan, Simms with exactly 0 appearances, that leaves Tosun as the only other option to DCL.
For what it is worth, I think the decision to let both Kean and Walcott go out on loan has led to us Running DCL into the ground. The fact that he now had a hamstring problem is no great surprise. For a player with his pace and workrate hamstring injuries are bad news.

If you count Richarlison as a striker you may as well count Iwobi as one.

Kean isn't even at the club right now.

Simms has never made a first team appearance.

We have 2 strikers, DCL and Tosun.

DCL is the main centre forward

Richarlison has played plenty of games for Brazil and Everton at CF.

Kean is on the clubs books and is obviously a centre forward

Tosun is a centre forward in name

Simms was namechecked by Ancelotti as training with the first team and being ready to come in if needed...

Theres literally 5 centre forwards on the clubs books...for one starting position.

Its inarguable.
