That's what I was thinking Toff, Gana was almost like having an extra player he got around the pitch that much breaking up play, he was just so good at reading the game. I think we need a ball carrier/playmaker in there. But that's not going to happen until the summer.
Right now, Gana would definitely improve us, and take the strain off Davies/Gbamin.
However, it's wages that would be the issue. We need a forward more than we need a defensive midfielder.
We clearly have a good relationship with PSG though and I reckon Gana would be open to it. Just don't think it'll happen.
Bringing a player of Gana's quality in could help our attack, that's the thing - ensure we aren't so open at the back and allow us to move away from that flat back four.
It's the role I foresee Gbamin coming back in to play if he ever gets fit, so it'd certainly be a signing I'm all for. I'd love him back.
But, if I had to choose one, then if we have some money to spend from Bernard and possibly Kenny going, plus the combined wages of all the jobbers leaving, then I'd put it all towards a forward player.
In an ideal world it'd be both, and frankly the position we're in, we should be looking at that, but the people in charge clearly don't think that way.
