Do you feel the fume would be warranted ?
While I think all those players need to go not just for the club's sake but for their own , unless Carlo suddenly decides to give some youth players a chance , we really do have a small squad with nobody game changing on the bench .
It's a hard one but that's why Brand's earns the big bucks .
They all need to go. Just frustrating that there is no fees coming in.

if they don’t bring anyone in really does feel like they are prepared to risk missing out on Europe.
There’s an opportunity there to kick on in the second half of the season.

Thing is, it's a signing which, in theory, could improve our attack. Systems can be altered with just one player.

A signing like Gueye could

a) take the defensive strain off Doucoure, allowing him to push on and add more of an attacking threat
b) give freedom to Allan to go and fire fight
c) take the onus off Allan and Doucoure, so they don't have to play every minute
d) allow our full-backs or our one fb to push higher up the field without leaving us exposed at the back
e) be the end of Sigurdsson in that holding role and we know he compliments Gomes
f) give us proper time to get Gbamin fit

He knows the club and would fit straight in.

I know it's unlikely and, as I've said, the focus for me has to be on a forward, but there's definitely a lot of sense in a potential short-term loan, at the right price. We have a good relationship with PSG too.
That Newcastle game, and West Ham Leeds for that matter, was perfect for that type of player because of the above. We were constantly pushed back and over run in the centre of the park, Gueye Doucoure and Allan would cover every inch of the park

Financial stability will be helped by a higher finish up the table.

We simply cannot go with the squad we have for the rest of the season and expect to qualify for Europe, which is what the target is.
My point was about the impact on all clubs, as this drags on, revenues will drop, no crowds back in stadia this season is almost a given, that lack of matchday revenue, albeit small in comparison, to table finish, sponsorship et al is gonna have a huge, if not catastrophic impact on many clubs, its simply unsustainable as is. So, yes, it would be awesome to enhance with league position but, it still won't necessarily be enough. We need to trim squad and wages first, thats a priority.

Yes we need players who will enable us to push on but not at the overall risk of a secure future. That is why this window is unbelievably quiet, across the board, too much uncertainty.

Yeah, I mean we need a forward - someone to drop in and be able to run with the ball and to be able to mix up our attack.

However, I know they're hard to find in this window, though there are options.

But if we're going to continue with this defence-first approach (because let's face it it's all that works) then we need our midfielders to be able to push on. We have one in Doucoure who can do that well, as we've seen in flashes this season, but he should be getting a chance a game, he really should. Instead, he's babysitting the full-back or dropping to get the ball off the defence.

It all depends on Gbamin and how ready he is and that would of course allow us to do that if he can stay fit, so the need to go and spend wages on a Gueye type is then lessened. But, Gbamin won't be rushed back so even if he returns to team training this coming week as hoped, it's going to be some time before he's on the pitch and I'd guess at least April before he's anywhere near up to speed.

First priority has to be a forward, though, I know that.

Gana would be perfect to let Allan do whatever he wants.

A loan would be a no brainer especially with the wages we’re shifting.

It’s a big day tomorrow, no signings = we have no chance getting top 4.
I can picture Gana sitting deep with Allan & Doucoure either side given license to box to box .
Hamez the tip of the diamond.
Richy & Dom up top.

Dreaming here like.

All the above are very good reasons why we would be wise to get Gana in ON LOAN if he's available.

I say ON LOAN in big letters for the benefit of some on here who still don't grasp the difference between buying a player, and just getting a player in temporarily without committing to a huge wage or huge transfer fee.

Oh I’ve no doubt he gets in our team and improves us.
I just doubt Moshiri is going to be convinced we need money for another midfielder.

Still wouldnt have created anything tho with 3 crabs in midfield.

I dunno goat, it pushes them back and has us higher up the field rather than having our 2 midfielders sitting on top of our defenders
More importantly, keeps Rodriguez closer to their goal. If they want to foul him, they would have been doing it near the box rather than the halfway line
