Everton January transfer window 2021

Linked with Josh King again, apparently Bournemouth have lowered their fee as they risk losing him for nothing in the summer of they don't sell today. They want a player in on loan to replace King though. It has been mentioned that we may offer Gordon on loan.

Southampton are favourites for King, they've offered Long as a replacement. Bournemouth have been punting King about all through this transfer window, with obligatory link to Man Utd to get people's attention.

Has anybody considered the following two scenarios
Moshiri has closed his wallet until the dross has gone
Carlo only wants players for the first 11, not more dross and none are available

That's all well and good.

But we have 2 forwards - one of whom plays left wing.

We needed another option in October and it'd be mental if we let four attackers leave - five if you include Simms - and not one person brought in.

We need to 'get rid' (though loans aren't doing that as such) of the dross. That's fine.

We can't go into the last 19 games (half of a season) plus the cup tie with just our current options and expect to compete mate. It's not realistic.

That's the problem - for us he at no point looked like what you describe.

Plus he clearly didn't want to be here. He was visibly sulking.

Kean may turn out good; but he was never going to turn out good for us. England didn't suit him clearly.

Hasn't played a minute in the last 2 games for PSG. Poch getting his feet under the table .

Why are people so obsessed with the first 11. When was the last time we actually could put our best 11 on the pitch at the same time?

We need 16 or 17 good players, rather than the 9 or 10 we have currently. Our squad has let us down this season because the drop off between first choice players and their second string replacements, is absolutely huge in some positions.

It’s been done to death but the answer is because you need options. When you’re 1-0 down at home to Newcastle and you only make 1 sub because you don’t think there’s anyone on the bench who can change things it suggests that you’re lacking options. Tosun wouldn’t have started a single game, nobody’s saying otherwise, but I would bet he would have thrown on on Saturday if he was available. Him going is fine if somebody else comes in to take that mantle, but if not it just doesn’t seem like a good move.

Fully agree, hence why I thought we maybe should have kept hold of Walcott. Unfortunately the times we have turned to Bernard Tosun Gordon this season from the bench they’ve not really done anything. Obviously even just having them there is better than nothing but we can’t pretend Tosun and Bernard are even decent options any more. They’re unfortunately offering close to nothing.
