Everton at Sunderland 2016: Live stream, start time, TV Schedule and How to Watch online via Royal Blue Mersey
Everything to lose vs. nothing to play for. This may not be the Toffees finest day.
Sunderland is a much weaker team than
Leicester City on paper. But
Everton may struggle against the Black Cats just as much as they did with the Foxes. A win for the hosts secures their spot in the Premier League for the 2016-17 season. A draw would also be a decent result, while a loss would be a major blow.
Meanwhile, the Toffees have virtually nothing to play for apart from their own pride. It's pretty obvious from recent performances that they don't have much of that at this point.
Or maybe they are completely at the end of their rope with their manager, Roberto Martinez. The dead-gaffer-walking should have probably been sacked weeks ago when the team was knocked out of the FA Cup. Somehow, he has hung on and Everton have looked worse and worse each time out.
Does the board really want to send Martinez back to Goodison for the season finale at the weekend? Surely, that makes no sense. Let this be his final match. If you like the man so much, spare him from 90 more minutes of 40,000 Evertonians mocking him.
