City paid 26 m for Danilo as a reserve full back
He got a lot of game time due to amends having a serious injury
Yeah but that's Man City. Every club knows they'll pay massively over the odds and it's no issue to them at all. They don't even need to worry about FFP as their owners will just create yet another fake sponsorship deal worth way over the odds to balance the books.

..and me, much as I like Baines. Gibson coming through as well, who can operate as LB (I agree he looks more of a CH).
Did you just use the CH abbreviation @Eggs
Its what you and me grew up with but seemingly politically incorrect in today's society.
I believe CB as in Centre Back is the accepted term nowadays lol

Not all Celtic fans think this. I think Everton would be a great fit for him as he will be given more of a chance. Theres players Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City sign for £20 million plus all the time and they sit and rot on the bench.

Sorry mate - I should have said, on that forum.

I really like Celtic. Always have. Boss kits as well.

I just think some of the fans on that forum (well, most) can't get their head around the draw of a club like Everton.

We aren't Bournemouth fgs. We've won the league nine times and while yes, we have been crap for 20 years (well, in terms of not winning anything) we're a proven top-half club in the Premier League - who happen to need a left-back.

We're also offering him a bumper wedge by the sound of it, which will help, but it's not all about the money.

He's already reached his ceiling at Celtic, really. That's not to slate Celtic either. It's just, realistically, you have to be very lucky to get a CL group that you could get out of. And if not, then he's just basically repeating himself year-after-year. He's already done that for three years. It won't make him a better player.

That's what's annoying me I suppose - the fact that they can't get their head around the fact that it won't be just about the money.

Celtic fan here, just signed up to say you lot have spoiled a lot of people’s summers by pinching KT. I know people who have named their pets after Tierney, and countless people have bought our new kit with his name because before these Everton rumours came up, KT leaving was unthinkable.

Kieran has taken the ‘Mr Celtic’ title in recent years. He’s non-stop engaged with the fans, always talks about his love for Celtic and his background. Most of our fans, including myself, would’ve bet our mortgages on him staying for our tenth title in a row in 2021. He indicated that he’d stay by signing that new contract. Never thought he’d go for the money at this age.

And he’s a hell of a player. Hes obviously not playing at a high level week in week out but his performances against Bayern Munich and Zenit at home show that he can cope at the highest level.

So [Poor language removed] take care of him. The boy is our best academy product for decades and it’s seriously painful to think that he’s leaving 8 months after giving our fans false belief that he’ll be here for years to come.
It's a no brainer for him and Celtic to be fair, mate. I admire loyalty in football, but sadly scottish football is not a place where you can fulfill your potential. The money quoted is an incredible amount for any scottish club and there's no way Celtic would say no to it. Seems like lad's head is in a right place, so he knows he need to move if he wants to take his career to the next level.

He could have succesfull 10 years in England and then back to your lot and still have some succesfull years at the club he loves.

Definitely agree with the limit on loaning players out.
A good seasons loan for most young players you're not completely sure of is fine but not a revolving door loan policy.
If they've had a loan and still aren't considered good enough then plainly they're not good enough. You have to move them on for the health of our club and for their career.
I saw you mentioned Pennington in the other thread, prime example, confused and surprised to see him get a contact extension.
I reckon Pennington was given a contract so as to ensure we get a fee if he leaves.
There was talk of Leeds being interested in making the loan permanent,
That may change now with the new manager at leeds

Get him ffs before Spurs swoop in like they always do. They'll get him and have him as their 4th choice left back, just so we can't have him.
