Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

Makes me feel ill that this [Poor language removed] will, at some point, be considered a former custodian of our club.

Actually it is the thoughts of him being here in the present day which makes me ill.

The knowledge that all things eventually pass and that one day he will merely be a “former custodian” is the light at the end of the tunnel and that makes me feel a bit better ;)

So we appoint Fat Sam [I prefer Fat Sam to Big Sam as big implies he has some muscle definition]...everybody on this forum and just about everybody anywhere in the world who knows anything about soccer is of the opinion, that if we appoint him, he will save us from relegation...What if we appoint him, and we still get relegated...will he refund us his salary; can we sue his fat arse; can we harm him; can we jail him...Thank you...

I don't know mate think we have to look ourselves in the mirror if fat Sat is the best we can do after 6 weeks.

Oh I agree with you there all right.....it is a sodding disgrace.

It is just that IMO having Sam in the hotseat instead of Koeman doesn’t strike me as leaving us worse off.

What a joke this is. His career is virtually over, in Allardyce's mind he has rebuilt his reputation with the work he did after the England shambles so he doesn't have a point to prove anymore. Not only that, even if he gets this job one way or another it would be his last ever job in football; so he doesn't even have to do well here because he's not setting himself up for anything except retirement.

From the club's point of view, the stain of appointing a relegation escapist like Allardyce, after spending all that money, is a stain they'd never wash away. Even a six month contract means they've fully resigned themselves to the fact that the season is beyond saving and the best this team can do now is finish 17th or higher. And if they give him longer than 6 months? You'll be hard pressed to find a single fan with a good word to say about the club.

The club are clearly petrified now. They are terrified of what the fan base would think about a Sean Dyche appointment as unlike Allardyce he has a future in the game and ahh contract given to him would have to a long term one. And they are equally terrified of appointing a left field option like Fonseca because if he's not the right man then we are truly done for.

What a time to be alive...
