Everton reopen talks with Sam Allardyce

I don't think he gives a s*** mate.
Of course he does! Have you never seen/read anything about him? He has a huge ego, and a massive chip on his shoulder. He believes he is a great manager, and feels the whole world has conspired against him to prevent everyone else from agreeing. It’s very important to him to big up his own abilities by constantly talking about how difficult his job is. It’s why he walked from palace and was supposedly going to do the same to Sunderland - he knew he might not be able to keep them up again and that would ruin the reputation he has.

Conspiracy theory : The board weeks ago could see the backlash they would receive by appointing Allardyce, so they tell him to sit tight, a few more poor displays/results along the line, more of the doubters think it might not be a bad idea now ( see snap poll thread ) Hence he is more welcomed, and our inept board get a reprieve. Or in reality we're scrapping the bottiom of the barrel (n)

The final nail in the coffin of the 'new era'. Nothing announces to the world that our ambition is no higher than the also-rans more than this. I'm at a loss to find the words for how bafflingly short-sighted this set of clowns are.

Allardyce leaves nothing but [Poor language removed] behind him everywhere he has been and this will be no different.

This appointment is partly due to the players though. There’s never been a bigger bunch of spineless biffs assembled in one squad. A complete unprofessional sham. We couldn’t go for an up and coming lower league manager because this lot would have the tools downed before he even got in the door. Foreign technician like a Tuchel or Rangnick? Don’t make me laugh. Yagz, Wazza Ash and Bainezy aren’t about to be told by anyone how to play a different type of football. Nah, straight under the bus if he dares change a thing.

Martinez took them to their prem record then they threw him under the bus as soon as he began to trust them to play for themselves. Koeman came with an authoritarian line but that doesn’t go down well in der boyz club.

As much as I hate big Sam, this group of players have got exactly what they deserve. I hope he has them running up sand dunes until their legs fall off the useless turds. The entire defence has shunned playing football for successive managers so now they can w joy death by video analysis and Sammy Lee telling them where to stand. Mirallas Siggurdson Klaasen didnt fancy doing basic things like putting effort in, I hope they enjoy the 50 yard sprint after the long diagonals they’ll have to make after every 30 seconds.

Apart from some of the youngsters and Niasse I wish Sam Allardyce to do his worst to the rest of them as there is no buch of fwits more deserving than these cowards. I hope it kills all their World Cup dreams and some of them look back at this period and realise they ruined their own careers by thinking they were bigger than Everton.

I’ll never forget what some of these frauds have done to this club. Schneiderlin Williams Martina I can personally never get behind them again.

This is my post of the season.

I'm very much about good football, trusting in youth and accepting the mistakes / teething problems that go with such an approach.
But it's horses for courses. Unfortunately, the sacking of Martinez and the appointment of Koeman was a poor decision because Moshiri valued reputation over actual coaching ability.
Now we are left with a squad which is completely devoid of identity.
If Sam is given a deal until the end of the season and a remit to effectively take us back to where Moyes left us then I don't think we can grumble.
The problem then however is, where do you go from there?
Because if the answer is Silva then we will basically have done a huge merry-go-round to get back to where we were at the moment Moyes left. And we will have chosen the same path again in acquiring a manager who gets the ball down and tries to play good football. Now what will Moshiri do? Give the funds necessary or instead judge the man on his ability to get decent league standings from a squad past its sell by date.
We've been here before.
When we sacked Martinez it should have been Marco Silva. Or Tuchel. Someone of similar ethos but with a touch more pragmatism. Or we should have given Martinez the 150m to go out and get 2 top CBs like he had at his disposal in season 1.
We need a continuity plan. As a business man, that should be essential to Moshiri.

He's managed some old fogies like Djorkaeff, Okocha, Anelka, Campo etc so id hope he can get the best out of our elderly players.

I think hes a pragmatist, if he sees a young player who is a better option that an experienced one I think he will play him

Allardyce uses the tools at his disposal to get points on the board. That's the business.

I don't think he has ever had big money to spend...I wonder what he'd do with it :o

He will slay the relegation fears.
