One of the posters on TW said that a steward at the match yesterday told him that the stewards had received a note from BK which was, effectively, a farewell from him. Hard to believe it would come out in such a way but who knows?

When I was a steward you'd be released and offered the job again during the summer. Probably a fiddle to avoid something daft like pension contributions, I dunno.

Just got a phone call saying that the stewards have just received a letter off BK thanking them for their service and wishing them all the best in the future.
Is BK going, is he sacking all the stewards or is it cheese on toast.

Seems a bit weird if true. Anyway, it's quickly moved away from the original topic to talk probably more suited to threads about the board so I'll close this thread for now.

Will happily reopen this when/if something more concrete appears on the subject. I think there are about 500 stewards, so I'd imagine we'd get some more first hand info pretty soon.
