Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

The mere fact we’re able to be in these negotiations is an encouraging start, considering we feared another summer stuck in limbo. It’s at least a sign of a normal functioning football club.

If we're buying other clubs' unwanted youngsters for £10m, with them obviously not being anywhere near in a position to challenge for the first team the coming season, it'd probably be better to invest that money in our own youth set up. Chermiti, this Tim fella, that's £20m plus that could possibly do wonders for our youth prospects.

It's pretty much the James Garner route.

Did alright on loan in the Championship, get him for buttons and hope he is at least serviceable.

We already do that with our own youth system but they never seem to prove good enough to take back. I don't think adding money to that would change anything.

You can’t just wheelbarrow £20m into our academy and make unsuitable players suitable. There’s no prospects making the first XI any time soon so we’re taking relatively small punts on external players.

Chermiti looks a serviceable enough squad player and Garner has been good. Much rather this approach than have a team full of Ashley Youngs.
