Everton Summer 2024 Transfer Thread

It was a silly comment really.

As if he would pass up on 27+ on a good deal.

I suspect that "rule" will be broken at some point.
It's not at all tbh, it goes up to what is deemed 'prime age range' we don't have the money to be buying players in their 'prime age' we need to get them before the age of 23/24 then and get a good 3-4 years out of them and then move on for money. You will find odd players but they will be languishing down the leagues or looking to avoid the drop. It's only for money buys though, not frees or loans.

Im sure im missing some, but I can only really recall Number 10 for money recently?

Like we paid about 4m for Gana?

Paying high wages to crap players has always been our issue imo.
Recruitment has been a major issue for sure.

People say we should just buy young players, but when I checked we honestly had bought about 6 players 27+ for money over the last 7 years or so.

Rough guess, but its not like we are buying loads of older people.

Its just been a total mess, Dyche has players bought by 3 DoFs, 8 Managers and 2 different owners, everybody just did what they wanted and put it all on the credit card.

Hoping we can shift Beto on for a chunk of that 25m. He would be a good buy for desperate promoted team... not sure Leeds or Leicester but one of the others

Always thought that was a bizarre deal for Udinese to accept. They sold him for that amount but barely any instalments in first year.

They are currently on the verge of being relegated from Serie A for first time since early 90s I think. Just four wins all season (although randomly three of them came away to AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio).

Sixth lowest scorers in the league so they've missed Beto getting his 9-10. I guess with who owns them it's probably not out of the question Watford would sign him if they get promoted next season.

See him in doucoure role tbh

Yes Adams is o.k as the CF but his best form in his career has always come as the secondary striker running onto flick ons. Adam Armstrong has been the first choice for Southampton upfront so I guess Che Adams has been more rotation and playing just off him.

Need to find some sort of alternative for Doucoure in that area if he misses another two months of the season again.

————Pickford———-

Coleman —- Tarkowski——Godfrey——Mykolenko

New Loan——Garner——Doucoure—-Dobbin

——————McNeil———————

I think we will see something like this next season

Don’t think we will replace Branthwaite, Onana, gueye, Gomes and Dele

we may sign Harrison if the price is right

Dyche needs a statue built if he keeps that side up! Coleman's not been a first team regular for over a year. Doucoure back in a central midfield two...yikes.

Dread to see what the state of the subs bench would be if that's the first 11 and I don't think it will be.

It was a strange deal for sure, but instalments are pretty normal for transfers so they only really let 8million ride, which is a big amount of money to a club like Udinese, but still.
